House of Harlow 1960 : Jewelry by Nicole Richie

Back in April we reported that Nicole Richie will be releasing a jewelry collection with Mouawad. “The collection is targeted at girls in their teens to women in their 30s who admire her and the prices range from $30 to $150. Mouawad is aiming to put Richie’s pieces, which feature fabric, leather, silk strings, chains, rivets, feathers and gold-plated metals.” The jewelry is said to be influenced by Nicole’s love of the 60s and 70s. The collection will debut in the new Kitson store on Melrose when it opens in November and on ShopKitson.com. This gold-plated sundial ring with leather (pictured) was inspired by “African jewelry”, quite nice- I love big rings. I can’t wait to see what else she came up with! Stay tuned…

I don't think it's a joke per se, and I'd love to see it in person, but for me, it's nothing new to the market and nothing I couldn't find by going to a second hand store

I am happy that its not toooo expensive... good for her.

But by nature... costume jewelry is overpriced. Sort of how Meg said it... so much of costume jewelry looks as though it could be found at a flea market. Not that there is anything wrong with that! I love thrift/vintage/flea... but being a jewelry designer - I hate walking into a boutique and seeing the same vintage looking stuff with a cute tag selling many times over.

Brass, Nickel, plating, enamel, ... should not cost so much!

its nothing new but no need to be.
it is super commercial and managed by mouawad (serious jewelers) if im correct. so its all got a major part of selling in the most professional way i believe.
wonder whats stores will be stocking them

I do think it is awesome she is keeping the price point on the level that most of her younger fans can afford.

The only piece I'm actually interested in is the head piece. I have to say its a lot better than I expected and priced the way a celebrity line should be priced for once. Is this being sold exclusively at Kitson? Thats unfortunate.
