Jimmy Choo Handbags

Meg - I checked out ebay and there isn't a single authentic Ramona on there. They all claim to be.

thanks for that aspen. I was a bit incredulous at my ramona devaluing so quickly. Not that it's about money but still

Meg, I have also carried my Ramona in heavy rain a few times. She held up great, but I did send her in today for a bit of "conditioning".

socal, did you send her back to the jc store? or do you have "people"?

Drel, I took her to my local "people". I live in Newport Beach; most of the SCP high-end retailers recommend Factotum Leather for "work" (our "leather-version" of the dermatologist/plastic surgeon...also popular in the area...).

They were great about repairs on my Chloe Betty bag, so thought I would give Ramona a go for conditioning...

Saks has a patent leather bag online now...

Measurements: 10½"H X 13"L X 5"W

SoCal - I like it. I don't like patent shoes/handbags on me but they look great on other people.

I'm going to be in your area soon for vacation. Can't wait for the shopping!!!

SoCal,

Oooh! That's very nice! I like the patent very much. Karma for posting the pic. :flower:

I prefer the leather, but do find the patent interesting. Was at NM Fashion Island today...sales, sales, everywhere...many empty racks...except for the early Fall deliveries (sweaters!)...

I think you should check out item 6888333344. It looks gorgeous. Just wanted to give you a heads up. But I would ask others if it is authentic.

This bag is DEFINITELY the real deal. And is from a well-respected tFSer.

I recently sold my Black Ramona and my Chocolate Brown Riki on eBay. It is possible to find authentic JCs up for auction, but sadly they are few and far between. When my bags were up, I frequently scoped out the competition. During that rather lengthy time period there were two other authentic Ramonas listed for sale (it took me a looong time to sell the Riki).

Did you get a good price angst?

I lost quite a bit.

My Black Ramona sold for $1450. I used it less than 10 times, and including tax I paid over $2000 for it at Saks.

My Chocolate Brown Riki sold for $1275. I used it once, and including tax I paid almost $1750 for it at the JC boutique in NYC.

I was having a lot of trouble selling the Riki, so I priced the Ramona pretty low. I may have been able to get a little more for it, but I didn't want to have to relist it five times like I had to do with the Riki.

The two other authentic bags that I saw listed never sold. They were brand new and priced slightly above retail. Anyone who would have been subject to tax would have saved a few $$ by purchasing either of these bags.

eBay is rampant with fake Ramonas (which are labeled as authentic). I think the sellers of the fakes are really hurting the people who are selling authentic goods. Buyers just don't know who to trust anymore.

Angst, Thanks for the Ramona support! I also appreciate hearing about your ebay experience. I am so anxious to retrieve my chocolate from the leather specialist...it is my favorite bag at the moment...

You're welcome, SoCal. Good luck with the auction. Since the Navy is not part of the Fall 06 collection, your bag might be snatched up relatively quickly. I hope you get your BIN price.

I did not want to let my Chocolate Brown Riki go. I had no qualms whatsoever about freeing up the Black Ramona. The Chocolate Brown remains my favorite color in the Ramona/Riki. I hoarde brown bags though, and have been using my chocolate brown Muse and my chocolate brown XL Mombasa frequently, so it was off to the auction block for Riki. I have the Ramona in Navy and the Riki in Stone, and as much as I love these bags, I just could not justify keeping 4 of them. I have yet to use the Stone Riki, and it remains to be seen if she will also make her way to eBay one day. Since the Stone is not part of the Fall collection either, I jumped on her when there were only 3 left in the US. Stone Ramona was all sold out by that time. Like you, I'm a dark bag girl too. There is just something about the Stone that is compelling to me. I still haven't used her though so maybe she isn't for me after all.

BTW, I love your Lime. I came across a picture of Liz Hurley several weeks ago with what appeared to be the Lime, and it looked amazing. It's perfect for summer; enjoy. I hope you are reunited with chocolate Ramona soon.

Angst, Love the "story" behind the sales. I was torn between keeping the black or navy Ramona. I think navy is the more gorgeous color, but I kept black primarily for work (I must have at least a dozen black jackets). I have tried the muse and mombasa bags as well...sounds like we are on the same "circuit". The lime is my "blip"...she is quite fun and the favorite of DH since he influenced her purchase!

That's exactly right. To many fakes are devaluing the authentic ones. Most people just don't know what to look for when spotting fakes. I can spot the ones I'm familiar with but I would need help on brands I'm not. I have found some good deals on ebay but not without lots of hesitation and evaluation.

That one is authentic. I think the only authentic one listed on ebay now.

bergdorfgoodman.com has the small black patent Ramona and large metallic suede Ramona. I like the black. Don't like the metallic. $1450 and $1595
