um from what I can see.. you want to sweep a large section of hair starting from the bottom corner of the head across the top. bobby pin it from both sides in place.. perhaps gather the rest in the back of the head and bobby pin it in place.. or put it in a bun.. or a french twist sort of thing.

?? sorry i'm not much help :flower:

20's hair.

I'm planning on being a Flapper girl this Halloween, but I'm having a hard time finding tutorials or good tips on how to get that wonderful 20's full finger wave, sort of similar to the pictures seen below.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Thankyou kindly for referencing me to that!

The first picture is courtesy of thespiderawards.com.

I'm a bit of a newbie, ha.

Thankyou again, miss.

^ lol!

btw you could always wear a wig. I see so many here in different wig shops. It must take forever to actually do your hair like that + it'd have to be fairly short if it isn't already.

i simply adore the finger wave. there was a period where i REALLY wanted to get that hair

Have a look on livejournal there is a vintage hair community on there :) Tells you how to do finger waves etc with step by step pictures.

I heard off two hairdressers in the past that it is very difficult to achieve this look. It is probably to have it styled at a hairdresser's, if you live in London I would go to the hair salon in Topshop they will probably achieve this look for you and it only costs £21.

I love that look. It seems like some back combing was done to get it scruffy and add a little volume.

can anyone link that livejournal page? i've always wanted to know how to do this, and the 1940's hairstyles too....i wish we had a vintage hairstyles how to thread!

1920's Flapper hairstyles

Any good how to guides out there or advice? My hair is naturally wavy/curly like the way a flapper would make their hair and it just hit me that now that my hair is a tad shorter, I could try a few new styles like those.

:flower::heart:answers much appreciated.

if ur hairs got a wave anyways .. what about some kiss curls ?? :flower: and slack them down

Ahh sorry about the repeat thread. I tried to search and I couldn't find this. I think I'm just impaired with search haha. Thank you!!
