I would dye to look like that! I'm also obsessed with old hollywood, like 20's and the 30's specifically. People just look so different back then, its crazy how everything changes! I would personally love to look like Clara Bow!

I think those looks could be made actually.

Long flowly hair with feminine Curls. A classy brooch to clip the hair a bit back. Pink eyeshadow. Black eyeliner and black mascara. Red lipstick. Kinda Bridgette Bardot. Even though, she was famous in 1950s.

everyone who likes old makeup looks like this should check out dita von teese's book "burlesque and the art of the teese." it offers lots of great tips, along with many pictures.

I love the 1930s too!!

Dita is gorgeous, but she's more 1940s than 1930s in silhouette and makeup.

I re-found this forum called "The Fedora Lounge" I think you would love it katiemakeup and everyone else who's interested in not only makeup but fashion and collecting actual 1920s-1950s vintage. I learned a lot about men's clothing and accessories as well here! The forums are subdivided really well into "hats", "Steamer Trunk" as well as for me most importantly "Golden Era" which is 1930s-1940s. I know that I  this site!

A lot of people who are into the 1930s and 1940s makeup look have said they like Besame for makeup particularly lipsticks. I remember reading about it a couple years ago and not being impressed with it. But since my passion for all things 1930s and vintage has flared up again, I think I will look into that line again.

I see that there's a 'retro' look thread, but I will try to drag up some 1930s makeup related pics. :woot:

I love the 1920 - 1930's too! It's by far my favorite era regarding make-up, hair, hats and even dresses. Absolutely fantastic.

I'd love to see those! And great topic. I think Hollywood beauty/fashion has loosely been inspired by this era for the past season or so. Glamorous, beautiful, classic, refined. What more could we ask for? It's funny too when I watch old movies like on TCM or something the actors seem to have come from another planet. They are just so elegant! It's hard to imagine them as the predecessors of today's Hollywood stars.
