A Magazine featuring Riccardo Tisci will come out in October and it will be a true reflection on his world. The building blocks of his style: sensuality, religion, romanticism, darkness, raw street & contrasting extremes. Expect some gothic images from his personal archives that define one of the most inspiring designers on the catwalks today.

oh, interesting... I've always been intrigued by him...
Thank you MMA

^_^ Looking forward to this, he definitely is one of the most inspiring designers!

Oh i had no idea about this, i will check it out when it comes out for sure, sounds interesting.

Thanks for posting MMA. :flower:

I hope I&V are involved in this.

^I hope not :argg:. and I also hope this is Riccardo alone and not all the Givenchy baggage, which is nice, but I think I always enjoyed him more as an independent designer, there was less commercialism and more freedom and wide vision in his work.. his personal archives and a view on his 'world' sounds thrilling for starters.

Thanks for posting, MMA. I'll put this on top of my to-order list the moment it comes out on modenatie (next to the Yohji edition I never got!).

i agree mullet. i really hope this won't just be some big givenchy catalogue. or something that entails his dressing madge for her tour. however, diane's suggestion that there might be of an inclusion of images from his archives sounds intriguing....and i really hope that will be the case.

Oh this should be good! Can't wait to see some scans. You can order this magazine from the distributor right?

Yes... you can order it directly from them. I can't imagine anyone who has a copy of any issue of A Magazine taking it apart to scan.

^I would never do this .... you're right MMA. ;)

I third Mullet and Scott. Though for my part I have something for Givenchy. I truly hope the center of this issue will be Riccardo and not Givenchy.
But seeing the cover, I think Riccardo himself is more engaged in this issue, than the Givenchy House is ....
However .... Who's Madge ?!

Cannot wait to see this, in real ....

i have lot of a mag issues and its not a problem to scan it at all.
you just should be gently

I'm really excited to see what this issue will be like. The best part of this description is 'darkness' as that's the best part of Tisci for me

^oh ok thanks a lot.
i forgot about this nickname.
by the way ... still on subject .... has anybody seen the outfits he did for her ?!
too sad, unfortunately madge isn't "avant-garde" anymore .... where is the time when she got olivier theyskens ?! one season after he was everywhere ..........

Do the editors call this "curated"?

I am very interested in the concept of curating two dimensional spaces, such as books or magazines...And, e-journals.

^i think they use "curator" just in the sense the guest-editor (or curator ....) chooses the people and works he wants to show, and organize everything together ....
they have a format (the magazine size etc.) and then do whatever they want ....

but you're right, it's more a guest editor, than a curator .... in the sense he's not working in a 3-dimensional space .....

but to be honest, i say why not to choose this word.
isn't curating a sort of display ?! weren't harald szeemann (or eric troncy) named "auteur d'exposition" ?

Oh, I completely agree with you, which is why I was curious to know if they used it intentionally. I too don't believe that a 'curatorial space' needs to be 3 dimensional. Actually, some (very few) online curatorial efforts are much more interesting the slew of weak attempts in museum and gallery spaces!
