Accessory Basics

What would you say, if anything at all, are your basics as far as jewelry and accessories go? I ask because I'm trying to shop smart and purchase quality items that will see a lot of wear. Here's what I have or want for so far:

Diamond studs
Pearl earrings
Black belt skinny and wide
Black pashmina scarf
Long pearl rope necklace
Black and brown sunglasses
Wedding ring set

I almost put a watch, but my cell phone has made a watch obsolete in my wardwrobe.

i think those are very good items Autumn.
As for me, I try to stick to more conservative colours and styling if it's something expensive and I want to keep for a long time. However, I also buy cheaper one-seasoner accessories from h&m or somewhere to spice it up once in a while.

I would definitely put in a Watch.

In fact, I'd leave all of the above at home and wear just a diamond ring and a Watch.
I think you can tell a lot about a person from the watch they wear and these days a good watch is an investment piece.
Besides, it's one of the few accessories that you can wear all 4 seasons. ;-)

Good point. But I like a certain degree of anonymity. Hmmm maybe that's my subconcious reason for nixing the watch.

simple classic necklaces.
one in gold and one in silver.

I don't really think that you need the gold and silver necklaces if you choose to wear pearls..you could wear them for day or night if you pick the right size. I would suggest though buying two pashimis. ONe in black and one in like a nude color..that way you can wear mix in a little color without buying alot of different items in your actual wardrobe.
I like the idea of a watch..it is a great accessory piece for a woman..its kind of tacky to say that your phone is your watch-fashionwise anyway.
