Adam Brody popped out, girls started screaming "Seth" at the top of their lungs, and he signed a few autographs. He turned and looked at the bank of cameras and gave an expression that was somewhere between annoyance and boredom and dove into the safety of his waiting vehicle.
"Smile for the paparazzi," yelled the cameraman in front of me. This made me feel a bit icky, but it was also like I was in a TMZ video, so I relished the moment.

Up, up, up, meanwhile. It was a civilized affair -- with lots of smelly cheeses and cold meats -- at L'unita, where I shared oxygen with the aforementioned Ms. Fox. Megan, Megan, Megan, how Right Now you are. And how prettier-than-even-in-pics. As Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, Jason Reitman and others associated with Jennifer's Body mingled marvelously, I made a beeline for my own favoured quarry: kooky Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.

The insane, deafening screams from the women clustered outside the Windsor Arms hotel late Friday night? You'd think they were waiting for Brad Pitt, who normally elicits that reaction during his stints at TIFF. You'd be wrong. In fact, the riotous response was for Adam Brody, best known to date for playing precocious high schooler Seth Cohen on The O.C. Brody strolled out of the Windsor Arms, where InStyle magazine had hosted a private dinner for his flick Jennifer's Body, and waved to the very responsive ladies. Who knew? He plays a murderous, ambitious and eyeliner-loving musician in the flick. Meanwhile, the huge red carpet set up outside the hotel was for the Artists for Peace & Justive bash, hosted by Crash's Paul Haggis and House's Olivia Wild. Spotted inside, oddly enough? After making appearances at the festival in memorable ensembles from Stella McCartney and Valentino, Jennifer's Body star Amanda Seyfried needed a little help remembering which label she was wearing at the InStyle cocktail reception. "It's vintage Versace!" said Seyfried, after a quick check with her stylist. Adam Brody made sure to keep his style simple in order to avoid confusion. "I just brought three each of pretty much identical cardigans, shirts and jeans," Brody admitted.
