'Scream 4': Adam Brody joins the cast, naturally

pop-culture-loving actor that would fit right in on a Scream set, it’s Adam Brody, right? Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson agree. According to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision blog, the former O.C. and Jennifer’s Body star has signed on to play “a cop recently graduated from college who was raised on the CSI TV series.” If they’re smart, their marketing plan will include getting him to star in some viral videos, too, because that casting sounds hilarious.
Per the trade, other new cast additions include Sugar & Spice‘s Marley Shelton, who’ll play a deputy who went to high school with Neve Campbell’s character, and Jericho’s Erik Knudsen, who inherits the Jamie Kennedy-style horror aficionado/comic relief role. (In addition to Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette have returned. The new potential slasher victims include Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, and Nico Tortorella.)
Brody’s character is now the thing I’m most looking forward to. What about you?
