It was on last year and i thought some of the models had really interesting looks.

Afghan television's answer to "America's Next Top Model" is breaking boundaries and revealing the beauty of the Afghan woman. In the relatively liberal northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, a local television station has started to show a different image of Afghan women with a program directed by an 18-year old woman. "Afghanistan is free and these girls are the future of this country," she says.

Girls in brightly colored traditional costumes with baggy pants and long loose-fitting shawls and head scarves stride down the impromptu catwalk decked out in traditional Afghan rugs.

Thanks for posting. This was one of my favorite articles from last year.

I thought the girl in the blue was great...one of the girls' names is "Katayoun Timour", I believe.

wow i didnt think there would be opportunities like this available for women in Afghanistan

Me neither. I always thought that modeling was seen as a form of prostitution there. I guess it's okay as long as they aren't wearing revealing clothing.
