New Zealand's Next Top Model

i saw ajoh walking down k road a few days ago. she was hanging around by the road looking kind of lost. maybe she was waiting for something? i was almost going to have a chat to her about what shes been up to since the show.
I think she's still doing modelling and trying out acting. Ajoh was at the Karen Walker 'Believers' show at the at the end of March and I read that she is going to be an extra in a upcoming movie

hi bammhutt ... i really appreciate your uploads ... iv been trying to watch the streaming vid (ep 11) for the past few hours and it says its unavailable when i'v saved the upload it only comes up as audio ... got any tips, tricks for me? thanks mate ...

i just watched it ... i heart hosanna ... lv her ... wish she was taller but shes good for the nz market and she's a got a great attitude ...

the other girls are coming across as haters, if they just concentrated more on improving their own game rather than backstabbing hosanna they'd do much better for themselves ... that spa scene makes them look so catty ...

- victoria's final speech was great until she started crying about how hosanna specifically is still there ...

- laura laughing at hosanna in the taxi was hillarious given that hosanna won the challenge in the end ...

how good is sara as a host and nikki phillips is hot ... and colin def grows on u ... he's actually hillarious ... good show all round!!!

^^agree with everything you said

(yes Ajoh has a role on Spartacus (new production by rob Tapert same person behind Xena and Hercules shows )

The videos are actually being uploaded by a poster at RTVG and he certainly deserves the credit for providing eps (especially to us non-NZers)! The show has been so great, I'm sad that it's nearly over but excited to find out who wins.

Hosanna is truly endearing. I know that passion can't make an everyday girl into a model, but I can't help but love her for her determination and the effort she puts into improving. Plus, not only was she the one girl to wear nude-coloured underwear on the go-sees, she said that she packed several pairs for the competition (no excuse of "they were in the wash"). Though it was risky time-wise, when the designer asked to see her in another outfit she said yes which I thought was a smart decision (turns out she was on time anyhow).

She's short and even if her face isn't unique enough to overcome that, there is perhaps some work locally that she could find. I think it's great that she won the go-see challenge and that she's still in the competition.

From the first ep, I thought that Christobelle was the most ready of any of the girls to start working as a professional model but it looks like she has some areas of improvement. The agency reps and designers didn't go as gaga over her as I would have thought and the wearing too much make-up thing is a problem.

Laura has been steadily excelling. She's shaping up to be quite a star in the making.

It's been coming down to Christobelle and Laura throughout the season and I'd be happy to see either girl as I believe both will do well post-show.

thanks saucer-like ... props to the poaster at RTVG ... thank you, i saw the first two episodes on youtube then i couldnt watch the rest as i wasnt in nz ...

endearing is the def the word for hosanna ... she grows on you ... i had to laugh because at one point Sara went from saying Hosanna was the only one with nude underwear to then say "you were the only one with CLEAN underwear" ... at that point i was like ... what??? lol ... i thought it was very smart of hosanna to model the 2nd outfit ... but she too went from doing well at the go-sees to saying that she got booked for the jobs!!!

i too was shocked that the designers werent going gaga over cristobel straight away ... i wonder just how bad her skin is?? i def think she could rock zambesi too although she didnt think she had their look ... in the end i reckon it will be between laura & christobel who i think would do well in australia ...

Yes, all credit goes to the RTVG member, I'm just posting his links. I'm going to be really sad when it's over too... I'll have to get used to watching ANTM on Friday nights  I'm growing on Hosanna a little bit more every episode. I think her attitude is impressive, but I still think her height will be a problem after the show. I thought Christobelle and Laura would get a better response from the designer too. I've never noticed any skin problems with Christobelle, I thought she was obsessed with make-up. I think the final two is pretty much set in stone :innocent:

The girls did practise interviews with a journalist, a Nivea spokesperson challenge and a boxing themed photoshoot. I think Christobelle's shot was disappointing, but her photo for Nivea was amazing. The bottom two was: Christobelle and Ruby. Ruby was eliminated. Finale next week!! :woot:

THat was fast! Thanks Bamhutt:flower::flower:

i like Laura and Ruby's shot best
Christobelle was obviously in bottom two for drama purposes proving once again that she will win, as she is the one they feel they need to down play.

They all looked amazing tonight!

Yes, everyone is speculating/assuming Christobelle will win so I think they have decided to choose a very average photo of her, which will make her look less obvious as the winner. I'm nearly 100% sure final two will be Christobelle and Laura :woot::heart:

For some time, I thought Laura was going to take the title, but now it looks like the competition is going to be Christobelle's. It's the homestrech and Laura is completely psyching herself out. I'm also sad to see that she has problem skin too.

Christobelle has proven to have a face that can sell products - first the CG commercial and now Nivea. I know the rep said Ruby would have won except for whatever, but Christobelle completely shined at the ad shoot.

I definitely appreciate the value of an education, but did Christobelle really say that she'd just go back to school if she doesn't win the show? That kind of worries me. What if Sara offers her a contract anyway? Seriously, the girl could make it big in NY. Although, I suppose that was her mom talking. Understandably, a lot of parents don't see a realistic future for their children as professional models. Maybe she can convince her mom that there's good money for uni in modeling!

I had forgotten that Hosanna was an athlete. For some reason, it made me happy to see that she seems to be accompolished in that area. She was also sweet talking about how beautiful Ruby looked on set, even though all of the girls can't stand her.

thanks again for uploading that & posting the links here ...

- i agree, cristobel did look amazing in the nivea shoot ...

- all the pix were great this week, i esp liked Ruby's & Laura's ...

- how good was Hosanna in the journo iview ... very professional! and how jaded was the ex-jurno? made me laugh, my sister's a TV jurno/producer in NZ & i couldnt stop thinking how much she would've agreed with this week's guest that the girls in interviews werent very good "talent" or have anything substantial to share/write about ... i actually admired all of their professionalism and genuine humility, not one of them is stuck up ... mate u watch the other versions of NTM and there are so many girls who tell the camera that they're going to be win by far ...!!! i think its that great Kiwi relaxed attitude that sometimes works against our girls bcoz it doesnt always translate into the mental toughness and ambition that is required in the industry ...

- i lv colin's different hairstyles and one-liners ... he's a crack-up!

- every week i keep getting impressed by Sara ... she's professional and doesent beat around the bush ... she gives great feedback to the models that is straight to the point & accurate without being offensive or being fake ... no wonder she's done so well ...

- i so cant wait till next week ...!!!

I would be interested to hear the opinions of any non-New Zealanders who are watching this show.

Personally I am shocked. I think the girls lack the confidence and unique looks to make it in the modelling industry, our New Zealand accents sound horrifically sloppy on air and the presenter (Sara Tetro) is such a dislikable character.. I wont even bother to mention Colin Mathura Jeffree!

I apologise if this post makes me sound like a horrible, bitter, twisted little person but I know I am not alone in my opinions and I also know that New Zealand contains a lot of incredible potential and already signed models (obviously they are all too smart to subject themself to over-commercialised, public ridicule).

I find the program a very disappointing representation of the New Zealand modelling industry and hope people aren't lead to believe this as being the best that we have.

Hi there, Sweden/Switzerland calling here! I find NZNTM a very agreeable show and potentially my favourite NTM version. The girls were well casted as most seem to be chosen for having some true modeling potential (though other factor obviously played in too: "..and you had some substance abuse background too, right?" out of nowhere and Sarahs visit to the house early on). They are tall, young, pretty and interesting-looking in most cases.

I LOVE the accents. I dont find them sloppy - just totally strange! Dont be too angry with me, but Ive started mimicking it; I think the key is to replace each vowel with an "i" or "ee". Fiun, iniweey! Ok, I suck..

My favourite aspect of the show though is the warmth and likability it exudes. While the resident cattiness is there and entertaining, the girls seem to have a basic understanding for how to interact among each other and treat each other with respect(ish). They seem grounded and like nice people in a strange situation, some coping more aggressively than others but no trash like ANTM.. Moreover, the production seems generally concerned with finding a good model and not just create shockvalue scenes (see: Britains NTM, where pedestrian hoodlums are asked to make out with each other, take beauty shots w nipples out and eat exotic food (=urine-soaked sheepbrain) in commercials). The shoots are not the biggest budget but still varied and nice. Finally, the judges seem generally concerned about the production and the girls. Criticism is constructive, usually not gleeful and delivered in a professional manner (cf. Heidi Klums ice-b*tch act on GNTM and all of ANTM). I really felt a little tug at the heartstrings when the panel sent Lucy home - she clearly overstayed her due according to me, but it was rather sweet to see how much the production seemed to care for her.

Luna, since its NTM I think its clear and understood that this is not the finest of NZ modeling but its a really nice show and it conveys a very likeable image of your country. Be proud! :flower:

Yes, I watch a couple of NTMs ... not as many as might seem though, I promise!

^I agree, I don't think any NTM show represents their countries real models or fashion industry, NTM is just a reality TV show. I think NZNTM have had an excellent first cycle and can't wait for cycle two. FINALE IN JUST OVER 2 HOURS! :woot::buzz::clap:
WILL NZNTM BE CHRISTOBELLE, LAURA OR HOSANNA?

THE WINNER OF NEW ZEALAND'S NEXT TOP MODEL IS Christobelle

hi annelein ... well said ... i agree with everything u've said ... esp the warmness of the show including the contestants & judges and i also agree with what u & others have said about the production values ... you really can see that they want to make a good model and not just shock value & cliche reality TV bytes ...

just saw the last episode and the last 2 really were excellent ... they worked the runway well and of all NTM frachises iv seen, i would say NZNTM #1 top 2 are probably some of the best in the world ... in fact as i was watching them i could easily see either of them being models.com MOTW ... great show this was ...
