How to Be Agyness: Her Clothes Are Random But Affordable

We love fashion people who don't take fashion too seriously: Marc Jacobs is one, Agyness Deyn is another — and Deyn recently stole the No. 1 spot on Tatler magazine's best-dressed list from Kate Moss. Like Moss, when Deyn wears something unique and original, it becomes an instant trend. See, while normal people (read: non-Amazonian beanpoles who look good in things like boy haircuts) like us agonize over whether to spend $200 on white-framed sunglasses, Deyn throws on the $30 pair and doesn't think twice about it. Then, we presume, she laughs at fledgling fashionistas trying to imitate her. She calls her style "proper mad" and tells the London Times:
“Sometimes, I think it would be funny to do random stuff and see if it catches on,” she jokes. It’s all a long way from her Lancashire childhood; even 18 months ago, she was still a jobbing model. Deyn is only just getting used to signing autographs. “I never know what to write. I always say, ‘Nice to see you, to see you, nice. Aggy.’ Then I put a love heart.”
See? Even her autograph subtly says, "I can't believe you take this seriously." To Aggy we say, love heart right back at you, right back at you, love heart. Or something.
Helpfully, the Times breaks down the price tags of a few of Deyn's most famous looks and proves fabulous doesn't always come with a three- or four-figure price tag (take that "real" housewives of New York). After the jump, the Times puts together two of Deyn's iconic, mostly affordable outfits, complete with costs.

She doesn't seem like a "Gucci girl" :innocent: :P

Just because she's not a 'Gucci girl', doesn't mean she can't wear their shoes.

BRITISH supermodel Agyness Deyn has vowed to put her glittering catwalk career on hold – to help her mum recover from a devastating car crash.

She made a 250-mile mercy dash to be with her mother Lorraine Hollins, who was reported to have “serious” injuries.

Distraught Agy, 25, is tipped to earn up to £10million this year after replacing Kate Moss as the world’s No.1 fashion icon.

But she has told friends she will give up her multi-million-pound transatlantic contracts to look after her mum. One said: “Agy and her mum are very close, so you can imagine how upset she was.

“She is in demand and is getting very big offers. But she is willing to lose it all if her mum needs more help.”

Lorraine, 54, who works as a nurse, was initially taken to hospital following the accident.

But she was allowed home to recover from her injuries.

Although family sources haven’t revealed the extent of her injuries, one admitted they had been “serious”.

She is expected to be housebound for a month while her condition is monitored.

Agy travelled immediately from her London home to her mum’s house in Rossendale, Lancs, after being told of the crash.

A close pal said the frantic beauty spent the journey “in pieces”.

Lorraine – who is divorced from Agy’s dad Kenneth, 55 – said last night her daughter had been “brilliant”.

She said: “It was a really bad accident. She came up and spent two days with me, which was lovely and just what I needed.”

Agyness – who works for New York agency DNA – is now on “constant call” while her mum recovers.

Friends revealed she considers Lorraine her “rock” for helping her through her transition from chip-shop worker to one of the world’s top supermodels.

One commented: “Agy is so grateful for all her mum has done for her and for helping to keep her feet on the ground.”

It was Lorraine who helped Agy come up with her modelling name after being born Laura Hollins.

They came up with Agnes Dean by using Lorraine’s mum’s christian name and an old family surname.

Lorraine, who practises Japanese “Reiki” healing, then suggested Agyness Deyn after studying numerology patterns
supposed to bring luck.

And it has certainly worked. Last year she took over from Kate Moss as the face of Burberry and was named Model Of 2007.

This month she topped Tatler’s best-dressed list – a title won the previous two years by Kate, 34.

The Agyness Age Ruse is Over?!

Mar 10, 2008 @ 9:06am

Agyness Deyn may be Britain's best dressed girl - at least according to Tatler and various mismatched teen rock fans - but with continued fame comes increasing scrutiny, and at least one concession:
The UK press are now reporting Agyness' age as 25 (as it should be, since she was born in 1983), and not 21 or 19, as previously reported by everyone from New York Magazine to Vogue.
The whole fuss over it seems silly anyway, but it's gratifying to see fashion taking a baby step towards admitting that a grown woman can be more alluring, more sexy, and dare we say it, more chic, than any sixteen year old playing dress-up in Givenchy.
Or, to borrow a phrase from Faran's mother:
"Why lie and say you're younger, and have people saying, 'That model's 19? But she looks so old!' Wouldn't you rather lie up and say you're older, and have the industry go, 'Wow, she's 30? But she looks so fresh!"
And then Agyness could reply, "It's the Burberry perfume that keeps me young, darling," and make even more money.

have any more giles deacon for new look promo pics surfaced?
