Agyness Deyn

I love Agyness, such an awsome personality and style. Love her even more now that I've seen the interview!

Well I certainly don't like that she's concieted, but like you said she's becoming a cultural comodity, but right now she's just a model, so if we can excuse Lily Donaldson being trouble then we should tolerate it from Agyness too, because they have the same job and they do it equally well, people don't treat Agyness like a model, especially on the site, they treat her like Paris Hilton even though Agyness actually has a job and does it well. Agyness isn't even my favourite but what I just want it to be an equal ground, like I said before she didn't cheat to get where she is, it's her Agency, work ethic and most of all Luck that got her there. If Agyness gets a cover it's like oh not that skank again, but if Daria or Lara get a cover it's like wow that's beautiful, so edgy, so fabulous. There's definately double standards, Agyness has produced some amazing images. Then again it's not like they're Surgeons or Professors or anything so I don't take it too seriously but she just gets a lot of flack for things that aren't even her fault, like her name and date of birth, if anything it's probably more embarassing for her that she has to keep lying to people's faces when they know her real age, it's just a marketing thing to get a model through the door. Anja Rubik is two years older than she is made to be but no one raises an eyebrow over her, so unless I've missed something I don't understand why people are so harsh towards Agyness. Her hair is her own creation, not her agencies, she'd probably be just as edgy and original walking down the street even if she never became a model, and that's something girls like Irina or Kasia don't have, who have to be groomed excessively, they have almost zero originality, just my opinion.

A agree with what you're saying, mostly.

However, Agy was FAR from being "edgy" before she became a model, so I don't agree this she would still be this "cool" person if she hadn't been exposed to the modeling world.

Agyness does create great images and everyone here loves her for that; it's just that one or two of us don't love the idea of her becoming a celebrity which she is bordering on becoming. Personally, I would find it hard to love her as a model if she became the face of a culture and a lifestyle I find selfish and boring!

i just wanna comment on that part cos i think i made my point a few times in this thread and im not gonna repeat it...
i for my part dont care about Lily cos i dont like her...
i dont think people treat Agy like Paris...sorry but thats just farfetched because even the ppl who are not fond of her personality, most of them (including myself) do like and respect her as a model and the rest doesnt come to this thread anyway
if people are harsh towards her its because of the big ego she suddenly developed (and i know that she has - for a fact actually, even though most people in this thread like to believe shes a sweet down-to-earth girl cos she acts like it, but she really isnt because shes too sucked up in this 'scene' world) and not cos shes doing a bad job as a model, because that simply isnt true

and i agree with the zero originality most models have...and i loved Agy's style last year and the year before...but nowadays it seems like she dresses just to be talked about and that doesnt have anything to do with orginiality

No offence or anything but you knowing "her friends" who think she's stuck up, is so hard for me to believe in. First of, what type of friend is badmouthing you behind your back? Those aren't her friends but rather people who are jealous of her and the success she's been able to achieve, especially now that she's a Brittish icon and individual making it to the "platinum level". Fairy does know people who are very close to Agy, I know that for a fact. She's not the only person who says that she's become conceited. I've heard those rumors too from various sources, legitimate or not, I dunno.

wow. we have a full blown war emerging here. why don't we all calm down. aggy is a model, she doesn't need to be a totally perfect person in public, that's not her job she is there to advertise clothes and brands with her body. she has her originality in the way she decides to do this and i dont think it really needs to be questioned in so much detail.

I agree. Lets just dump this subject if no one else minds and say some people dislike who Aggy is and some people love who she is, but we ALL love her as a model!
