Alena Blohm from Bremen | Mother Agency: Model Management in Hamburg | Booking:
[email protected]
Think of the quintessential German look in fashion. Think of beautiful, long legged blondes with classical features, think of a beauty statement that does not know intercultiral barriers. Think of Nadja, Claudia, Charlott or Toni. And think of Alena Blohm because she is just that. The Bremen native embodies luxury and beauty in a very cosmopolitan way which has allowed her to shine for high class labels like H&M during the past months. Alena has recently been to London and New York City where she snatched up one top booking after the other and sure Digital Diamonds wanted to know what Germany's most expensive smile got to say.
How were you discovered?
I was discovered during a shopping tour with my best friend in my home town Bremen. A woman approached me and asked if I were interested in becoming a model. Well, for sure I said yes. My first shooting was with Ulrich Lindenthal from Hamburg, who brought me to my motheragency Model Management.
Your least favourite German city?
I must admit I have not been to each and every German city so far, so it's hard to tell. I guess every city has its own charm but I fell in love with Hamburg because it's such a charming town and even has a harbour like my hometown Bremen - which is my favourite German city, of course!
Most harmful thing ever done at school?
I remember the day when my friend and me were not in the mood to go to school, so we decided not to go. We went to Starbucks to have a cup of tea and I was so excited because it was the first time we skipped school - uhu (Laughs). At the end of the day our teacher called our moms. Result: This was the first and last time we skipped school!
Your favourite and least favourite German dish?
Best definitely is German Schnitzel. The worst for me are Schwäbische Maultaschen!
Which German models are you friends with?
Well, it's quite hard to find real friends in this business. My best friends are those whom I have known since Kindergarten. For me, the best friend I have met during my career was my roommate in Paris - Lara Babetzke, she is also with Model Mgmt.
Your favourite and least favourite song at the moment?
It depends on my mood. But I can say that I'm crazy about all Independent and Alternative Rocks musicians like Florence, The XX and Birdy. I really hate this one German song "Leider Geil", no idea who's the artist, but it's just so bad.
Your favourite German celebrities?
I really like Diane Krüger.
We Germans are not exactly talented when it comes to styling and so on. Give the Germans at your age some style advice!
I would not say that Germans at my age are really talented at styling themselves in a fashionable way. I think the biggest problem is that Germans think too much about what other people could probably think about them. If everyone would be free of thoughts like this, they could be more creative and individual in the way they dress themselves. That's my advice.
