I like the presentation on the runway, but in reality it is just another story. I agree that they need to slightly alter the silhouette (maybe shorter jacket length or size down would help).

I d definitely go a size down in jacket and throw away the large tie, I’d wear it with a super slip Dior Homme by Hedi tie.
But seeing it next to his (who is he btw ?) suit, I am starting to understand and appreciate Anthony’s proposition. I think it’s just a matter of styling.
And he started a trend, at least in Paris, of women wearing their husbands’ old suits, or thrifting mens suits. But with super high heels. Or just maybe a micro-trend, its only the 4th time I have spotted it in the people I know.

But honestly I am super biased because I see the RtW (Ford, Pilati, Hedi or AV) primarily through my eyes which are a 100% immerged in Yves’s couture and keep wandering what Couture clients would have like , because obviously Nan bought a lot of RtW too. At YSL, RTW has often been a derivative of couture.

I wasn't expecting women to actually pick up on this look, considering how large the shapes are. Let's hope this translates to better sales in 2025. Kering needs it.

When I think of Yves' couture, I think of the attention he put into adapting men's clothes, sometimes in the subtlest ways, to a woman's body. It was never just "put a big man's suit on a woman" - even when he did oversized proportions, there was a different sensuality in the cut.

I agree, an YSL couture client would have scoffed at Anthony's proposition, both jackets and trousers. It's amateurish for couture but OK I guess in the context of RTW: launching trends and being ahead of the fashion conversation.
edit: just like this Primark, I expect mens suits from all the fast-fashion now.
