Sorry but it takes more than a fringe to be Birkin-esque! Alexa is mod-ish, Jane hippy. Just look at what Jane Birkin is wearing in the photo... Completely different style.

I've never read an interview where she doesn't cite Jane as a style influence. Her Madewell collection was partly influenced by her. She wears clothes in the same manner as her (effortless cool as opposed to the Mod 'cool with a lot of effort') and ok she reveals less flesh than Birkin but she's not trying to make the same statement...
Her beauty look is so similar to hers too. I'm sorry if you can't see the similarities but to me they're just there. I wish she'd shake it up a bit in her photoshoots, like the Vogue Italia one from a few years ago.

I can't find the exact quotes online but I've seen all this in Harper's and Vogue (the Daily Mail just had the photo I wanted )

why are you guys debating whether she's inspired by Jane Birkin or Jean Shrimpton?
She's mentioned both in interviews, depending on her outfits she channels one or the other, and when you look at pics of Jane and Jean you can clearly see the resemblance with Alexa.

^ Yep, she's cited all the above, in addition to Patti Smith and Diane Keaton (as Annie Hall). Basically most of her style icons are 60s and 70s with a little 90s thrown in for good measure. She loathes the 80s, if I recall correctly.
