Alexa Chung

Name-SHARING indie It couple Alex Turner and Alexa Chung are still very publicly madly in love.

The Arctic Monkey frontman and his TV presenter missus - who've been going out for a year - made out at the Henry Holland bash and didn't care who saw them.

An insider said: "Alexa sat chatting with her girly mates downing green apple bellinis.

"But when Alex arrived they headed straight outside and were snogging and holding hands." Sorry, ladies.

We couldn't talk about this trend without pointing out the denim-dress loving Alexa Chung. The Brit it girl has several frocks and smocks in the medium-blue hues (including one from H&M). Seen here leaving Radio 1, Chung wore a denim dress with her signature knee socks and D&G's Studded Bag. We love that she threw an oversized plaid coat over her dress; it gives the whole look a very nineties/grunge vibe.

SHE'S one of the most stylish people around, topping as many best-dressed lists as there can be, but what we all really want to know is how long does it take Alexa Chung to get ready?

"About 15 minutes. I get changed three times a day, because I've got a really short attention span, but actually, when it comes to working out what to wear, it doesn't take me long at all," she says in an interview with journalist Benje Goodheart.

"I'm not really someone who spends hours and hours doing hair and make-up, as you can probably tell. That's why I've got a signature look that takes me five minutes. It's to do with laziness, not hankering after a well thought out look."

But it's this "well thought out look", or at least a look that she's searching for - joining Gok Wan in his latest mission to find the "UK' most stylish person" in a new series, Gok's Fashion Fix. "We're not going to be taking it too seriously," she says.

GOK’S FASHION FIX - 26th June at 8pm on Channel 4
A brand new magazine series that rips the label off fashion to prove you don’t need to spend a fortune to look fabulous, presented by Gok Wan and fashion side-kick Alexa Chung.

In front of a studio audience, Gok takes on designer clothes chosen by the most powerful buyers in the fashion business with a collection he’s sourced entirely from the High Street. In a catwalk face-off the audience will vote on which is the best collection. Along the way Gok will teach us everything we need to know about what to wear this summer and how to wear it.

Alexa Chung roadtests the fashions we love and this week puts high heels through their paces in the ultimate stiletto race.

Each week Gok will rummage through the drawers of our favourite celebrities in search of dirty laundry and style secrets. In the first shows he visits film legend Joan Collins, former spice girl Geri Halliwell, Hollywood starlet Mischa Barton and Kelly Osbourne.

Gok launches a nationwide search for a style icon which will culminate in a grand final to crown the UK’s Most Stylish Person. First stop is Liverpool.

And Alexa takes a sneak inside the lives of the kings – and queens - of designer fashion. This week she samples the lavish lifestyle of red carpet designer Roberto Cavalli at his castle in Florence. Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Luella and Missoni are lined up for future.

Alexa Chung attends the Glamour Women of the Year in London, June 3, 2008 at Berkeley Square Gardens in London. She hits the party in a flirty strapless dress from Luella F/W 2008, accessorising with a vintage Mulberry leather bag and Moschino Cheap & Chic Patent Leather Bootie. She brings to her look the coolness details: cat-eye make up with eyeliner and a black satin ribbons as a Chanel-esque hair bow, that makes her quirky cool!

So did we confirm that the bag is Mulberry? Which model is it?

P.S. I've been so inspired by her lately, especially since I, too, am part Asian and have some similar features. Today I did the eyeliner flick and it looks awesome!

Speaking of the eyeflick, thanks for the eyeliner recommendations! I mean to do the eye flick for my wedding make up for my sister's wedding. Well actually I mean to make it a look I go for regularly especially since then I'll be able to practice ahead of time, assuming someone else doesn't do my makeup.

I think the major appeal of Alexa is that she wears quite basic clothes, but it's something that most people can find and wear everyday as well. She just pairs it with interesting accessories or wears them in unexpected ways. One reason why I always come to this thread is that she wears great casual clothes, not always just red carpet. But even her 'red carpet' type outfits are really fun and can easily be recreated, or at least translated somewhat into most people's wardrobes :)

^Well said. I find her casual style the most inspiring (given that her casual style is often dressier than the average person's).

I think I appreciate most of all that she manages to be feminine while never overly showy. She doesn't look like the kind of girl that other girls might dislike because she's trying too hard.
