Alexa Chung

^ I completely agree. The last section makes her sound like a complete hypocrite.

that interview really doesn't help her image imo...she comes across as a spoiled brat and a girl who says one thing and does another..:innocent:

At least she understands that she's in no position to talk about materialism etc. That was Alexa talking in the third person, wasn't it?! 'She says, with her bags, laden with gifts, downstairs'. She always comes across better in video interviews. The 'giddy jokiness' doesn't work as well in print. Love the pictures though, especially the one beside the bath. It makes me laugh that she's so open about Alex. I get the impression that he'd rather saw his legs off than tell a journalist about an average day with his girlfriend! Opposites really do attract...

well interviews like these really make me cringe:sick:....They are trying to create an aura of an icon .....at the end of the day she is nothing more then a pretty , well dressed presenter :flower:(who's style i do like )but more importantley is she having blue eyes in those pics???:o

she sounds like a total idiot, oh dear...
at least she looks nice there

I was a bit disappointed in that interview...I really thought that comment about buying stuff for £700 was a little ridiculous, the solution to the sweatshops shouldn't be that they get rid of inexpensive clothing altogether
and she said that people need to stop buying unnecessary things but admits to buying three 'disgusting bags in Greece'

hehe, I'll try to ignore this interview since I normally think she's quite charming and of course can't resist her style ;)

I didn't find the interview as cringe-worthy as I expected it to be, like those columns of hers , and I don't think she came off too badly. Although, she was quite hypocritical when she said she refuses to talk about Alex and then proceeded in doing so  She is very well co-ordinated with that bathroom, though.

Wow, that was not a good interview. She does come off as a spoiled brat. I guess they were trying to show how much of teenager she still is. Which is basically everything that annoys me.

well she is dating a 22 year old and she hangs out with 18 & 19 year olds .....:innocent::innocent: well luckily for her its not her personality that i like its her clothes:p^_^

oh well...i'll just continue to watch what she wears and ignore what she says...
has this been posted?...

I am utterly disappointed in her demystification; I suppose I was too distracted by her lovely frocks to pay any mind to her actual personality (perhaps that is how why got famous... :innocent:).

Regardless, she portrays herself as a blubbering idiot.

dont worry too much...so many of us are guilty of that (i think) on this board..^_^ all the pretty dresses and we get swept away in the fantasy. then suddenly someone posts an interview or a video and we suddenly realise that maybe the love stops at the lovely clothes...sad but true..:innocent: i think that's why people with pretty clothes and substance (cate blanchett, maybe?) are such a delight...

i'd take all interviews with a grain of salt. it's never a direct translation. true, she does sound like she's struggling to be serious, but she admits as much. i find her answers to reveal that she's much like the rest of us--knowing what we ought to do, but failing sometimes.

she seems so vacuous and image-obsessed. calling her and alex the indie barbie and ken? perlease.

I've never disliked her in previous interviews, this has been the first where I find her really shallow and trying too hard to be smart and serious. I do hope that it's just a bad interpretation/perception of the writer.
