Alexa Chung

she has some nice clothes but tbh i dont think she comes across as a nice person at all .. i think she could do way more with her styl e.. bit predictable now

I like the last outfit, but the floral bag just doesn't go with it AT ALL. Fugly.

I believe she has a new programme soon on BBC3 called The Wall which she is co-presenting with Noel Fielding..

She also presents Freshly Squeezed and T4.

I don't understand how people think her style is suddenly predictable, it's not as if she was ever a groundbreaking "trendsetter", she has a personal, quirky style and sticks to it (the pink Luella dress aside). All this "style icon" talk in the media is ridiculous, that term is used far, far too often, even Alexa herself seems to see that -

It’s odd to have acquired this style icon tag, though, because everyone in Shoreditch dresses the same.

Personally, I like the Brits outfit, including the cardigan, but she should have held it when posing on the red carpet rather than draping it around her shoulders. Elle UK says that the outfit is Chanel, by the way.

Some Brits snippets-
"We however did have invites and sauntered straight into a conversation with Alexa Chung who confided in us that she was "actually really chuffed to be here with Alex [her Arctic Monkey boyfriend], he's done amazingly well: – the gorgeous couple looked totally loved up."
instyle uk

"Meanwhile, Arctic Monkey Alex Turner is snogging his girlfriend, TV presenter Alexa Chung, as if they were teenagers. Though actually, they may well be now I come to think of it."
telegraph blog

"Frontman Alex Turner's girlfriend Alexa Chung said: "I think it really suits them. I've only just seen what they look like but it's a nice look."
"I think it's because they are always going fishing and doing that kind of thing on a weekend. They look like they are on a shooting party."

I don't mind the last dress, but I liked her style more when it looked as if she spent about 10 pounds to look absolutely amazing.

hell if i could afford chanel or was given it for free - I would. Yes she made cheaper clothes look good but some people wear them because they can't afford more expensive threads so make the best of what they've got.

and if you were put more in the spotlight of course you'd think more carefully about what you wear - who wouldn't?? it's hardly contrived

regardless of her great style - she's still a talentless twit ... and on the few times i've met her - a rude one at that.

Yes, I would wear it too, hence why I mentioned it was only to be expected.

However, she initially came to the attention of the fashion crowd for being Alexa the Topshop clad happy-go-lucky girl who had style initiative, but now she is not such, she differentiates herself less from every other Mary-Kate Olsen and Rachel Bilson of Hollywood. I mean to say that she has merely diverged away from the original reason her current gathering of, for lack of better words, fans came to appreciate her style, that's all.

No doubt she will gain a new group of fans who will come to adore her for her current Luella/Chanel look, and they too will be disappointed when and if she changes her style again, like we are feeling now.

Anyway, that's enough about the subject. Moving swiftly on...

i'm sick of this **. i've only known of her for three days, but as far as i can see, she ruined alex in less than a year. since they got together, he started smoking, dressing like a turd, and being walked by a woman like a dog. at least i see the light now.

also.. i think her style has stayed pretty constant! i mean, she dresses just as cute & well.. typical 'hipster' as she used to? you guys are so demanding :P

That's unfair, in my opinion.

Alex is more than capable of making his own decisions when it comes to smoking, and anyway it looks as though Alexa just smokes socially. I don't like to see him smoking either though. :(

Alex does dress differently these days, it was noticeable when the second record was released, before Alexa appeared on the scene. It's to be expected that he dresses differently now to the way he did when he was 19 years old - he has grown up and travelled the world many times. Anyway, part of his charm is that he's not "stylish".

As for being walked like a dog, did you see his Brits acceptance speeches?! :innocent: I think he probably needed a bit of direction on his way to the car...:p

But this is all really off-topic.... To bring it back to Alexa, there is a red carpet interview from the Elle Style Awards here-

According to handbag.com, the cardigan is PPQ, not Chanel.

The Channel 4 presenter, whose boyfriend, Arctic Monkey’s Alex Turner, was also there, was a fashion high point in a black mini dress under a PPQ cardigan, accessorised with black shoe-boots and a long necklace.

Don't see what the fuss is about this girl. She gets the odd outfit right and seems to choose really nice coats -- which is a start I guess. But otherwise ... the pink dress / the mumsy (sorry vintage) cardigan / the too short blouse ...
I think the word 'effortless chic' isnt' for her, at least not anymore. Sorry to be harsh but she tries too hard to be like the Parisian actresses cum models like Lou Doillon, Clemence Poesy and co. who really do have it!

i personally would love to see more pics of her in her everyday life , because we only see pics of her when she is at a party and ofcourse she is going to wear highfashion brands then.but alexa has never been the trendsetter she is someone alot of girls can realte to in terms of style.thats it.

lunabella, i think you may have "issues" lol feeling a wee bit jealous maybe? :P

yes, i do. thank you for noticing. but i stand by everything i said.

also, i did not see the brits as i live in america and we only have mtv garbage here. has anyone a video of the monkey's aceptance speech?
