I totally disagree - this is hardly a standard woman's tux: the trousers (which she's wearing backwards?), the ribbon and the messy hair definately make the outfit daring. Maybe it wouldn't have been more of a risk for Alexa to wear an elegant dress, but I think she looks better when she sticks to what she's good at.

I'm not sure whether I like it or not but major kudos to her for pulling it off.

it's the shirt (made of tiny white sequins?) and that loose bow that bothers me actually. i would have worn a simple little black top or a sheer black shirt instead (it would make the whole look so much better- in my opinion) but i guess that might be too simple for the costume institute gala.
