Alexa Chung

I despise the granny shoes she wore with the nubby gray sweater and black leather mini. I much prefer Alexa in the yellow dress and gray boots--love that combo!

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not that jazzed about the Alexa Chung Madewell collection. I'm actually more impressed with what they currently have now. I've picked up a lot of great classic pieces there lately. I just think they're super cool, without the Alexa Chung association.

And she is so insouciant in her interviews, particularly the recent Daily Candy one, and a bit wishy-washy with some of her answers. You get the feeling that she's still evolving; one week she's into polka dots, the next week something else. But perhaps that's partly why she appeals to so many young girls.

^ Those short wellies are sold at the Madewell store. They're not part of her collection, but it's nice that she's repping the brand.

I wildly dislike the leather skirt, sweater ensemble... everything is ill-fitting or uncomplimentary to her body. I almost never like her shoes, but that is another story.

The yellow dress is cute, though. Perfect for her figure - cinced waist and short skirt - and a new color. :) I hope the quote is wrong about her moving back to London, though. It seems unlikely since it also says she's working on a few things in America, but we'd also miss her here. Brooklyn seemed like a good fit for her.

Alexa seems to find the best, most adorable dresses on the planet. She is really good at picking out the quirky ones. ^_^

It's not always easy for me to understand whether she's being quite serious
or just joking when it comes to some of her answers in the latest interviews. Gotta say, this girl has a pretty quirky, british humour ;)

I hope she'll be writing some more for Vogue UK this year.
Her articles are love.

Is anyone going to go to the Madewell Alexa Launch Party on Fashion Night Out this friday?? I'm definitely going. It's from 8pm - 10pm in Soho, NYC. I'm also trying to get a job at Madewell so I can afford her clothing aha.

She seems to love this white cardigan. I don't like this outfit, she looks weird.

She looks washed out and sickly. Maybe it's the lighting? Or maybe yellow doesn't really suit her.

Can anyone in America tell me what time they think the Madewell collection will launch? I'm English, and will be ordering the clothes to be sent to a Canadian friend's address... I know they launch online on Sept 9th, but how does it work over there? In England, everything goes on sale at 9am which is obviously the same for everyone as there is only one time zone here... what happens in America? Can anyone tell me what time 9am your time would be over here and whether that would fall behind (in the middle of the night) or ahead in the afternoon?

Sorry, bit of a weird one - I just want to make sure I'm online when it launches in case it sells out quickly! :)

Unless it says otherwise (like names a specific time such as 9 a.m., which as far as I know, it hasn't) then presumably it will begin selling online at 12:01 a.m. ET on Sept. 9. That would be 5:01 a.m. GMT on the 9th. If it's 12:01 a.m. PT, then it would be 8:01 a.m. GMT. Worth checking then if you're up, if not, just try later.

9 a.m. ET would be 2 p.m. GMT. 9 a.m. PT would be 5 p.m. GMT. Good luck!

Sheesh...is this collection seriously going to sell out that fast? Are people going to be scrambling in the dead hours of the morning just to buy out all they can? I don't even think she's that famous over here for the collection to be such a hit. We'll see...I mean it's not like she's Karl Lagerfeld or anything.

Anyway this is the photo they have up on Madewell.com...not sure if it's a repost but here it is.
