I wouldn't take that too seriously. Judging by the tone of the article, I feel it's safe to assume that this brand of success she's destined to incur is not of the particular sort a person would hope for. I think he was implying that if she garners any success it'll be similar to the faux "success" LC and that girl from The City have happened upon. No one outside of the fashion-blogosphere would bother to concern themselves with the cares of either of those silly girls and in two years time they'll in all likelihood be nothing more than a monstrous blot mottling the past five years. It's not sound success Alexa will stumble across over here, which I'm supposing is exactly what she's after--Alexa appears to be a very ambitious, albeit self-important young girl--but a "success" that is as wholly transparent as her admittedly wily pretext and purported 'talent'/aptitude.

On the other hand, MORE pictures please! The girl has fabulous style; it's changed markedly since I first started following her style, but I think I like where she's going with it. The BAFTA ensemble was quite disagreeable, but everything she'd done up until then had been a surefire hit with me. I guess I'm just a sucker for that 'awkwardly-gangly-yet-stunning-gamine' look she's been giving off as of late. Viva Alexa!

WOW - one hour a day - live! That's got to be difficult. I guess that's why she's doing a month of rehearsals (presumably). I hope it works, but I agree with the people who have commented that the concept sounds similar to The Wall, which was just painful to watch.
Hopefully with MTV's budget, this'll be a lot more interesting.
They've been looking for someone to host the show for a few years? WOW That's a lot of pressure on slim shoulders!
I'm excited about it though. I wonder if we'll be able to watch online....that'd be truly revolutionary and people from all over the world could join in!

For one big thing, it's making Alexa Chung its everyday afternoon face, and she is selling this annoying interactive "I'm your friend! Except British and really thin and kind of creepy!" thing that, well, no. She uses the word "friend" CONSTANTLY

My thought on the show is that atleast it's not some 'reality' show like The Hills. Sure, if someone else was hosting the show I would most likely NOT watch it because I never watch MTV at all

of course this was going to happen, alexa isnt stupid and wouldnt just move to nyc without already having a job offer like this.

Good idea, happyhippyy, I think this comment got overlooked with all the MTV/TV presenter talk -

On the style front - I've heard rumours of more of an association with Chanel. Not like a muse, but more like a brand ambassador I guess.

What would that mean - wearing Chanel to more events or a campaign?

It means they give her a clothing allowance I think. And presumably attend Chanel-related events. Basically she's got the Karl nod. This is what I've heard second hand though.

Hmm.. not sure how I feel about that. I don't really like her in Chanel. It just doesn't work for her in my opinion. Take the outfits she wore to the 2009 Brits or the Dark Knight premiere, for example. She looked awkward in both of them.

I prefer to see her in labels like Luella, Charles Anastase, etc. They are more suited to her style.
