I think it is quite rude to say their discussion is boring, I'm enjoying reading it.

Sienna Miller used to be the sh** back when "hobo chic" was a trend but then her shenanigans turned people off - and has since faded into fashion obscurity. That just shows that namedropping and mixing business with pleasure are never good ideas.

And yes it IS true that loads of British girls dress like Alexa but it's because she has such great style and people want to emulate it. That's what's made her a style icon. If no one was copying her, she wouldn't have the iconic status she has.

Loads of British girls and Alexa dress the same. If you check the English Streetstyle threads, you can see many girls that have a more unique dress sense than our Alexa, but when it comes to TV personalities, she sure makes a difference from your average Brit presenter, or at least she tries to. "Style icon", as a term is highly overused these days and she sure doesn't deserve that title yet. Only time can tell.

Navygreen - you're hardly bringing interesting to the thread when you keep making the same point over and over. Everyone keeps harping on about 'when can we see something new' - so I posted a tip off of a new press clipping. Jesus wept.
 
The thing about Alexa being a "style icon"...I think she most definitely is. Despite the fact that many British girls dress similarly to Alexa, and perhaps even more uniquely as you've said, to an extent she is representing a youth subculture. She almost always talks about fashion in interviews and articles, which makes her style more accessible. So that's why I think she's a style icon.
Also, there's always going to be backlash with 'celebrities', and style is very much subjective.

I said "interesting", not "new".

You mean hipsters, right? Is it really a subculture though? :unsure: I don't know. I believe she can do so much better than just be part of something so unoriginal and fickle. She needs a high profile campaign.;)

And i agree Carrie was shallow. I didn't like those characters, they where overboard. but i think that was the point of the show.. anyway, i meant i got vibe, that she has this wannabe her kinda thing.. many fashionistas think highly about Carrie. I am not one of them. But imo, i don't think Alexa is that shallow. I just meant all the clothes, column, new yorker life etc.. ah.. never mind.. YOU JUST DONT GET IT, and i don't want to argue.

No, I don't mean hipsters. I mean young people who are interested in fashion. I think it's unfair to criticize her on the basis of who she is friends with.

I can't believe Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken is one of her favorite films. No one I know has ever heard of it, but it's one of my favorites, too. I watched it all the time when I was younger.
