The only criticism I can think of right now is that maybe her fringe and hair could be a little bit shorter.

Very simple look, but I love it! Love the hair a bit longer too, the bangs are cool, a little update. The dress reminds me of her newest dress that came out for Madewell holiday

Congratulations to Alexa Chung who scooped the British Style Award for the second time at tonight’s British Fashion Awards. She was nominated alongside the likes of Florence Welch, Emma Watson and Adele but beat them all to pick up the only accolade decided by the public that recognises ‘an individual who embodies the spirit of the city and is an international ambassador for London’. As you know, Grazia Daily is a huuuge AC fan – we’ve oft raved about her hipster ways, cannot get enough of her Madewell collection and we’re thrilled about her new TV show, 24 Hour Catwalk. So we say HURRAH! WHOOP! WAYHEEY! and so on. But to really tip our excitement over the edge, we got the chance to have a chat with the Chungster about Thanksgiving, dressing like a diamond and yep, voting for herself…

How does it feel to win this award for the second time? It’s so amazing. It’s just nice that I’m still relevant in 2011, isn’t it? I thought 2010 was a big one but now it’s got better. But I actually don’t think about clothes as much as you might think.

The public voted for this award, is that special for you? I think it’s so nice and such an honour. But then again, my mum and dad do use the Internet so I like to think they were clicking that button pretty hard. And me, I was voting for myself.

What is it that you love about British fashion? People aren’t afraid to be playful. We’ve got a history of celebrating the unique and the eccentric whereas America can be quite commercial and Paris is couture. I think it’s cool that London Fashion Week is about young designers trying wacky things.

Why did you chose to wear this Christopher Kane dress tonight? I saw it in his collection and I just thought it was really, really beautiful and there were a couple of other options from the same collection – there was a blue one I really liked and a lacy number. But I wanted to look like a diamond.

What British designers, aside from Christopher Kane, do you admire? Loads! Erdem, Tabitha Simmons, Charlotte Olympia, J.W Anderson who I got to sit next to tonight who’s just awesome, Vivienne Westwood…just tonnes!

What do you miss most about London when you’re not here? Everything, it’s brilliant. Funny people, self-deprecating humour, taxi drivers that can drive properly, getting drunk on a Sunday…there’s loads of cool things.

You celebrated Thanksgiving recently – how was that? So cool, amazing! My friend’s aunty cooked me dinner and it was really, really nice.

What’s top of your Christmas wishlist? Diamonds [laughs]. No! I want some sketch pads and pens.

And what’s next for Alexa Chung? Drinking!

Then we’ll leave you to it. Enjoy!
