Alexander McQueen 'Bloom at Night' Fragrance : Maartje Verhoef by Paolo Roversi

It's a very tame and somewhat 'normal' ad from McQueen, beautiful, but it's rather safe. But then I suppose that's what it needs to be, get the brand out there with the broadest reach. I was always surprised they didn't push their perfume offering further, they're the cash-cows for most brands.

Ok, i absolutely love Maartje, so i might be biased but i find this image really beautiful. It might be safe as Honeycombchild comments but i thinks she is right that it will work for the audience.

Fragrance ads are supposed to be commercial so I think it works. It's just that Maartje is so boring that i'm almost falling asleep while typing this. Should have made a better choice.

I like it

However it might be better with a different model who can give a stronger stare in the camera

Maartje V. face is perhaps too soft for this

I like this, i don't know if it works w/ the bottle design, but it's not bad.

I'm also very curious about this fragrance, as Kingdom was one of my favorite perfumes ever :(

i don't think their fragrances were such a success on the mainstream market. i guess while McQueen was still alive, he went for brand integrity over mainstream pandering.

Agreed, Amanda Murphy would have been a better choice imo

As far as a fragrance ad, I don't care for it, but the image is stunning!

Wow. It's great. Something different for fragnance ad.

I think the setting, the dress, the bottle, the shadows, the messy hair.. everything is in a strong visual range: dark and cold colors all over; casting a very aggressive-looking model would have been too much... Maartje's soft vibe makes a perfect balance for this, her intense gaze is on point. I really the image, kudos for Roversi!

It doesn't even look like her, just as well because I'm not overly fond of her look. I feel like they havent had a striking perfume ad since My Queen. That shot is still etched in my mind after so many years.

lol the funniest thing about this it's that they're marketing this as their first perfume ever... we must've dreamed about kingdom and my queen.

also, this one sells at 350 euros, so they can keep it to be honest
