The performances of Alexander McQueen are strongly influenced by art history: the dolls of Hans Bellmer from the 30ies, or the photographic art of Joel Peter Witkin, or Jacques Louis David from 1790 - through the eyes of Alexander McQueen you will get a "shocking" new perception on the culture of fashion.

The exhibition is sponsored by CPD Düsseldorf and the German VOGUE.

^ I don't think they put them online. It's an exhibition: you'll have to make a trip to Dusseldorf to see them. :(

By the way, thanks anna k :flower:

Edit: wait, the previous post is gone. Now mine makes no sense. Ah well.

you're welcome, droogist^_^
if i can afford it i might take a trip to düsseldorf but i highly doubt i can...:p
steeltoe, you can watch excerpts from mcqueen-shows at www.showstudio.com

^ Yes, it's quite far for you, isn't it (Bavaria, right?). Düsseldorf is actually just a 2-hour drive from where I live, but I've never bothered to go there. Maybe this is just the opportunity I need.

heh..you all are really lucky people in Europe actually appreciate design and vision. You're able to attend amazing exhibitions that stretch beyond the parameters of fashion capitals.

what, you didn't like the fur exhibit at the met?

yes, you're right droogist, i'm in bavaria.
i was never attracted to düsseldorf though they always want to make it a fashion capitol^_^, but you never know...
for two hours you should give it a chance

scott, should be lucky, but if you're broke it's almost the same utopian project to travel with our deutsche bundesbahn:D as to cross an ocean...
okay i'm exaggerating:lol:

True.

Düsseldorf a fashcap? I don't understand. Berlin, definitely is the city. Although,I hate the utter concept of fashion capital.

düsseldorf is still the place where the cash flows within the german fashion industry. but anyway, berlin is the place to be if you want to be "seen"

If you do go....make sure to ask if they have DVD copies of the shows available....?

This exhibition sounds cool... Well, I love everything about McQueen, actually ^_^ But I can't travel to Germany.

no,no...the article shows the dates were 7.2005 thru 8.2005...so unfortunately it's been said and done for a while.
