A FEW short months ago Alexandra Agoston was wearing a grey Queenwood School uniform and sitting exams for physics and modern history.
Last week she was strutting the catwalks of Paris for the likes of Christian Lacroix.
Agoston, 18, of Mosman, describes the haute couture shows in the French capital as "amazing, so spectacular".
She appeared in John Galliano's Madame Butterfly-themed Christian Dior show, a Lacroix show and an eerie production for Franck Sorbier.
"There were all these amazing props," said Agoston of the Sorbier show.
"One girl had a pony - a real pony - and another girl had doves."
While Agoston is coy about her earnings, her Sydney-based agent, Ursula Hufnagl of Chic Models, has no doubts about her potential.
"Most of these girls are earning millions of dollars a year and I don't see why Alexandra wouldn't be in that category," Hufnagl said.
But Agoston has kept her feet firmly on the ground.
She had been tipped as the next big thing but put off full-time modelling until she completed her HSC.
"I was really pleased with my results," she said. "I've been accepted into architecture at Sydney University [required UAI 93.15] and I've deferred that for a year. I'll see - if I'm having a great time overseas I'll stay but if not I'll come back."
Agoston is now in New York for that city's Fashion Week.
