Alexandre Vauthier S/S 2017 Paris

It´s like a fashion editorial for Elle Magazine circa 1988.

For what it is -- traditionally sexy, uber glamorous, party girl/cool girl garb -- it's pretty good and shockingly, given the genre Vauthier designs in, understated.

I could live without the '90s throwback logo-ed crop top and visible briefs and the "hoodie" dress which seem sort of beneath his brand (meaning I could easily picture them on Rihanna or her runway) but the bulk of it ain't half bad.

Photographed by David Bellemere ... why am I not surprised

I don't mind it, but I prefer the more elevated pieces / evening wear than the athletic / streetwear pieces.

Reject all the sporty pieces and you'll get a really cool and sexy collection.

It looks like glamour shots from an 80s magazine, campy and fabulous.

Alexandre Vauthier is quite one-dimensional as a "sexy" designer. The references are easy and they always mixed with street elements to add some sort of cachet. It lacks in energy and vivacity.
It looks like he just grab some ideas in vintage pictures of Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele eds for Elle/Vogue in the late 80's/early 90's.

The quality is exquisite but at this point, it's not even worth mentionning it considering the prices of high fashion clothes today.

The look with a blue shirt and the kaki short is great. It's my favorite of the whole thing.
Hair and Make-up are great.
