Check out February's sister story in Teen Vogue featuring Ali and Dree
To the untrained eye, sisters Madison and Ali Stephens have a whole lot in common wardrobe-wise, from leather jackets to chunky boots. But the girls, who share an apartment in New York City, swear they’re coming from two totally different directions. Madison, 20, counts French Vogue as her style bible when piercing together sleek all-black ensembles. Meanwhile, model Ali, eighteen, draws inspiration from skater-grunge films Lords of Dogtown, as evidenced by baggy T-Shirts and a freshly bleached’ do. “I try to make my style seem effortless, but Ali’s actually is!” Madison says. The girls meet in the middle inside of Ali’s closet, which is packed with designer goods picked up on modeling jobs. “I’ll come home and find clothes lying on my bed from Maddie trying them on,” Ali says, Madison doesn’t deny it: “Ali’s like, ‘Half your outfit is mine-you look like!’” “But she always gives it her own twist,” Ali adds.
