Hey toohip
It's actually not a design duo per se, Yukinori Maeda (sp?) is the designer and the woman who is sometimes in photos with him is his business partner, from what I gather
There is a Cosmic Wonder book now, but it's not a magazine
I would say his fashion practice is art-based
he does a lot of performances/installations/events/sculptures, which don't always follow along w/the fashion calendar, which is why we have this erratic mish-mosh of a thread
i see... thanks a lot cerfas, its really interesting... you and some other broaden my fashion horizons... lol... but really, thank you

you're welcome, toohip! Glad it is interesting to you

This presentation was written about in an issue of Purple Journal
they described going camping..

Yukinori Maeda is being featured in an upcoming exhibit at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, also called Cosmic Wonder

Cosmic Wonder
The infinite, the transcendental, the unseen—these are the artistic quests of Cosmic Wonder, an exhibition of metaphysical art that gives colorful expression to the mystical yearnings of a new generation. Guest curator Betty Nguyen identified key young artists who explore trance, “alternative” realities and the psyche, who tap into altered states of consciousness through exaggerated color, mind-altering patterns, morphing forms, and visions of the infinite. Their work is inspired by nature, by the cosmos, by the vastness of the Western landscape, and yet is rooted in an urban sensibility. Cosmic Wonder presents a range of young artists—including Jim Drain and Ara Peterson, alongside their avante-garde, 60s and 70s predecessors such as James Turrell. Call it New Tribalism with edge, or the 1960s refracted through a 21st century consciousness, Cosmic Wonder revels in the wondrous.

It is...here are a couple of small-ish pics of his installation (from littlecakes.org).

Pretty silly idea to name the show "Cosmic Wonder," if you ask me - it's really confusing.

^confusing indeed. Almost makes it appear as if it's referring to
Yukinori alone. They should've thought about that a bit more.
Otherwise,it looks like an interesting exhibition. Mark Borthwick too!<br>

Thanks for the pictures droogist

I don't think it's a good name at all, but well I guess it's seperate from the clothing label....

I really want to go to SF and see this, most of the artists are some of my most favorite:heart:
