Altuzarra S/S 2023 New York

I don’t like the first half of the collection but the second part is kinda interesting. That baby blue and pink tie-dye dress is so pretty and the embroidered tunics would make cute editorial pieces.

Either MAS is styling this show or he is back at having Nicolas on his moodboard. Also a touch of Sacai…
The opening part and the last part with the parkas is good. Everything else is fillers.

No decisive statement. Just clothes that will fit categories. I applaud him for being clever in a commercial sense. The collection will hit the stores in late February so including Parkas is not a bad idea.

Was a little confused by the first half because of how strange of a shift it is from last season but then it eased back into a rather rich looking collection. The fabrics have a 2010-2011 Roberto Cavalli feel in a good way, because Cavalli back that had some luxe as hell textiles and textures (unlike now).

I could do without all the sporty references, but the rest is actually really nice. It feels like a more urban continuation of his last spring collection and I really hope he will keep this vibe for some time. It's definitely more interesting than his tight skirts with slits.

It more a return of their late 2000s looks , but still underwhelming.

Definitely a return to his early 2010s collections, specifically Fall 2012 and those coin jackets. If I was an Altuzarra customer I'd rather hunt for those archive pieces, but I guess these last few parkas are a good consolation prize (they're pretty fabulous).

Lots of layers and coats for a spring collection unless its a show to buyer concept.

I think that's just the styling.

It's a really strong collection.

The workmanship is near couture.

It's a really strong version of himself. Tendencies that annoyed me in the past have been mastered with technique and intention. He's doubled down on who he is. He owns it.

Not my cup of tea at all but I can absolutely respect it.
