American Idol

I was like "Please not Brooke" :p I was so satisfied when Ryan announced Brooke is safe.

me too! i literally held my breath when Syesha was announced safe

i actually felt bad for Kristy eventhough i wanted her gone because she was booted out after giving her best performance on the show

Yeh, it's kinda weird when she had a bad performance, she was saved :/

i felt bad too lunatic...for exactly the reason you mentioned....and also because you can see what a bond they all have now, and how badly each of them want to be there...irrespective of whether or not we relate to their musical styles or their personalities, each and every one of them are working so hard in that competition and want so badly to have a career...and i can relate to that....so it's hard to see them go...

To be honest, I don't really remember much from last night's episode -- other than Mariah Carey's backup singer practically screeching during the song :ninja:

i was really disappointed with mariah...her songs have gone downhill, and that was painfully obvious after the contestants sang some of her best oldies...comparing the song she sang last night to something like hero is painful....she looks fabulous, and she seems really sweet, but i dont know why she has slowly lost what made her so appealing {at least to me} in the first place....she seems like she's trying to stay contemporary and in doing so has stopped writing and singing the incredible ballads and melodic pop songs that she did so well, and has steered more toward r&b...nothing wrong with r&b....i just found the song last night boring, repetitive and completely unoriginal...and it did nothing for her spectacular voice.

i noticed that too :ninja:
Mariah seems to sing the same songs with different titles nowadays -_-

i was discussing the show with a friend last night and i can't help but give this "" reaction when she said that she can see David A.'s career going the Clay Aiken way :ninja::doh::ninja:

i was so happy to know that brooke is safe...she is def. my favourite now...i really like her style...she's so pure...

i was thinking today how bizarre it is really that we watch these kids go from 'ordinary' people to 'famous' people...right before our eyes...the show is interesting, of course, because of the talent and the competition....but beyond that, i find it incredible the way it documents the journey in a matter of months from complete anonymity, to the point where none of us would find any of these people anything special if they walked down the street beside us, to stardom....where people are calling in to ask them questions, screaming for their autograph or to touch their hand or just be near to them....

fame is such a strange process....and the way we as an audience have come to accept it as so natural....one day these people are so normal, so nondescript to us really...and a few months later it makes sense to us that they are sudden a 'celebrity'....like kelly clarkson, or carrie underwood....they really have come to be 'famous' in the same sense as anyone else....and yet we saw them at the beginning, with all their flaws and imperfections, totally accessible and normal...

it is so bizarre!!!! :stuart:

^nice input!
i share the same sentiment :flower: i find fame so fascinating, weird and scary at the same time! ^_^

Syesha- Fabulous, she should be on Broadway!
Jason Castro- I actually liked it. But I am also very biased, as I want him.
Brooke- No. Just... no.
D. Archuleta- As always, great. He can only be great, though, so it doesn't count.
C. Smythson- Very good, I love it when she belts.
D. Cook- I think I'm in love. ^_^

I say the bottom three will be Syesha (just because she always is, even though she is amazing), Jason, and Brooke. Syesha will be the first one back on the couch, and Brooke is going home.

My thoughts:

Syesha, whoever said her home was Broadway, was proven correct tonight. She's just been dying to act out on stage and she really was great. That little red Leger dress did wonders as well.

So glad to see the old Carly back, she clearly loved that song.

I agree 100% for once with what Simon said regarding David Cook, he sang that song really well but he's better when he's gritty.

Oh and Brooke starting again. I'm just like who cares? Paula treated it like it was the end of the world. It's like that's life, sometimes you screw up, you start over, move on. But this is not Brooke's style and I wouldn't be surprised if she went home or maybe even Castro himself.

I think ALW was probably the most rocking mentor ever. I loved that he told Carly to change her song and gave honest opinions. He's so mental, I love it

^Agreed about ALW, I thought he was dead-on when he told David A. to open his eyes (I think he should've told the other David the same, haha) and just emote through them. For the first time I actually kind of liked David A.'s performance (Although part of it was because his variation on the song was very nice)!

I really don't want Brooke to go home, but I was not happy with her performance at all tonight - it had nothing to do with her starting over, though - I didn't see that as a big deal.

oh no....i'm not going to read the spoilers because it only airs in 7 hrs here...
but these 'oh no brooke' comments are really worrying me  :(

OMG BROOKE!!

(*shameless fangirling moment* i replaced Anja on my avvie just so i can tell the world that you need to pull yourself together because ALW hits close to home to me!:cry::ninja:)

not your style but...

okay, okay.
my mind is going crazy!

Syesha-definitely agree with whoever said that she will be in the bottom three. she doesnt have a huge fanbase and even though her song was GREAT, maybe the best that ive personally heard from her yet...because of the flair and the dress and she seemed comfortable and all that...but i will not be surprised to see her in the bottom 3.

jason-the judges clearly didnt care for it, but i didnt think it was bad at all! i think, since this week is practically out to get him, that he did a wonderful job with the talent that he has and im really hoping he will go through (ive been voting for an hour!)

brooke-just like everyone else said, oh no. i mean, it was a disaster. her dress was beautiful though  i actually thought paula was going to Praise her for being brave and starting over, but i really agreed with her sentiment about how a true professional could hum along and pick up the pieces just fine. i'm thinking it may be her time :ninja:

carly--gave me goosebumps. shes from my hometown so i love her, but shes never been one of my favorites. this week though, i think she definitely secured a spot in the top 5. she worked it, and the dress was flattering as well!

archuleta--made my mom cry, im in love with his vocals and the purity in his voice. i was really impressed, AND he kept his eyes open!

cook--theres no doubt the guy is talented. its OBVIOUS. i personally have never cared for him, since he just doesnt have the type of voice that i like ( i listen to the shins and death cab for cutie and of montreal...which is why im drawn to jason and david a over david c.) but i understand his appeal and i think he did great. what was that weird cloth hanging off his pants?

i want to see what happens tomorrow!
