Since I couldn't find a thread about the International Fashion Week in Amsterdam that was held this week, I decided to start one. I found some pictures at the dutch ElleGirl website of pieces I really like, hope you will enjoy them too! :flower:

A jan schoonhoven reference?

Is that what is silk screened onto that dark grey number? That would be awesome if that was the case, since as far as Dutch artists go he's my favourite.

I am not sure Timore. I kind of see what you mean, but I couldn't find any background information about the designs from van Wouw. Jan Schoonhoven was a great artist though :flower:

Well, artist or not.

i still dig some of the fashions, and nobody would have seen them if you hadn't posted them, so thanks.

(use the karma button:wink: )

nice that your hanging around timore

Thanks for making this thread! I am watching the Blue Blood show on tv, right as I type and it's quite good. Jan Taminiau is an awesome designer. I have loved his work for a long time and this looks fantastic too. My boss is actually his uncle, perhaps I'll try to talk myself into a meet and greet with him :P

I wish I had gone to this event last week now...

Daryl van Wouw certainly stands out...

Thanks for starting this,Alice. There are some beautiful pieces among them:smile:

I remember reading an interview with Halina Reijn (?sp) (actress and voted Holland's most stylish woman last year) at last year's Amsterdam Fashion Week:

Interviewer: So are you wearing Dutch design today?
Halina: No,today it's Swedish design,my dress is from H&M  .

The pleasure was all mine :flower: . There are more pictures at the website I mentioned before if you would like to see more. Maybe it's an idea to start a thread about unknown Dutch designers, some are really good. Bas Kosters for sure, jhaime! You should check out http://www.dutchfashionfoundation.com (I'm really patriotic, I know )

And QuirkyCool I know what your talking about, it was actually at the Elle Martini Style Event, but too funny! Especially since this very critical fashion-journalist(Fiona Hering) said about Halina that she looked really beautiful, and probably had put much effort in it. Though Halina's outfit only was worth about 30 euros :innocent: . She's pretty cool in my book.

Wow!
I love it that there's some attention for the Dutch fashionweek!
We've got some really talented designers! My personal favourites are Jan Taminiau and the fabulous Daryll van Wauw.

I went to see the show by Monique van Heist and it was okay, but not too great actually! Her previous show was much better! So was Percy Irausquin's show..

But you guys really should keep an eye on those young Dutch designers, they're really coming up and getting better and better...

hey alice, ye it's cool, I know about the dutch fashion site, been a few times..

I'm glad you started this thread actually, there's some great tallents from the netherlands...

I love mada van gaans...i think i started a thread on her in here somewhere, or I thought about it and someone beat me too it, i'm not sure..

It seems amazing things are coming from Belgium and Holland these days...

There was an article in todays Metro (the free paper of London transport ) about Amsterdam International Fashion Week...mentioned Spijkers en Spijkers....there stuff looks really lovely actually....would like to find out more info about them

Amsterdam International Fashion Week 2006

I have been there a few days ago! I worked backsatge for Edwin Oudshoorn, it was so crazy and hectic but great. I have also seen the FransMolenaar Award, great fun to, even though we had to wait over an hour an there were no goodiebags:innocent: .
Has anyone else been there this year?
