Supposebly, Andi was on The City. Who knew!

Ok so I watched the 3rd episode of the City and I was quite disappointed, because it was boring. But then I recognized Andi Muise!!! I havent seen her in magazines/ fashion shows for so long so to see her on The City was quite a surprise. Aparently she was the model for DVF’s online shop or whatever….it was some photoshoot for DVF and Whitney was talking about getting a new apartment when they zoomed in on Andi and I was like “Andi!!!!!”. Yeah so….that was the highlight of this weeks episode and I thought I’d share some screencaps with you in case there are some Andi fans out there. Oh and what I forgot to say in my last The City post: i love the theme song! It’s called “On top of the world” and I think its sung by The Pussycat Dolls. Very NY….very danceable. Following his recent performance on Canada's Project Runway, Brandon R. Dwyer's break-out collection is style for centre stage. Dwyer showcased his collection featuring Canadian born supermodel Andi Muise, at the Devils Martini Bar and Lounge in Toronto, Ontario.

Now the face of Brandon R Dwyer's eponymous label, I caught up with the raven haired beauty at the designer's Fall/Winter '09 showcase.

WOMAN.CA: Give us a bit of an update on Andi.


ANDI MUISE: I've been shooting a lot of editorial... Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Marie Claire. There hasn't been a lot of campaign stuff happening. I took a bit of a break and just starting up again now really. Work has been very slow in New York, so I took a vacation to Turks and Caicos.

W: You are a full-time New Yorker now. Are you getting back to Toronto much?


AM: Not as much as I'd like. I was back in January for Brandon's campaign shoot which was on my birthday.


W: Walk any New York Fashion Week runways?


AM: I did one show for Luca Luca as a favour, but I decided not to [participate] this year. Next season, I will do the full circuit.


W: And, for the lads, what about Victoria's Secret?


AM: Hopefully that'll happen next year.


W: How did you meet Brandon?


AM: About three years ago we met at a fashion show. It's more of a phone relationship ... We talk for hours every day, but try to see each other as much as possible. He's so energetic, [I find him] so refreshing.

W: So his clothing looks very luxe and beautifully crafted. How does it feel wearing them?


AM: Luxurious and beautiful... Comfortable. The pants are fitted but I don't feel like I am being squeezed anywhere. The dresses are all very flattering and I don't think anyone would feel overwhelmed or claustrophobic in them - which is often the case with gowns [that I've worn] by other designers.

W: Favourite piece?


AM: The gowns are all gorgeous. But, I have to say, the knits and the pants since you can dress them or down. He has never done pants before [this collection] and it proves his versatility as a designer. I adore the leather pants and the wool style with the suspenders.


W: What's your preferred spring '09 trend that came off the international runways?


AM: Well I really love the equestrian look, but I guess that was more last season, wasn't it?


W: It's a classic look so not to worry.


AM: [laughs] I'm a bit out of touch this year I guess.


W: Style.com baby.


AM: Yes, I know... I drill that into Brandon's head and forget to check myself!


W: You just got back from an island vacay, but what city do you love to visit?


AM: When I am not in New York, because I absolutely love New York City, it's got to be Barcelona or London, England.

I hope Andi will do the VSFS this year.. I don't think they make her a regular model for their catalog unless she they contract her. BUT I keep my hopes up for the show this year!! She was rocking pink section!!
