Androgyny In Fashion And Models

Oh Those Pics From VH1 are so cool, but the worst thing was to put Bridget Hall as a Mick Jagger haha what a sin,she is not that cool, believe me  ,and the coolest thing on the show was to see Michelle ferrara's angry face as one of the NSYNC guys :woot:

faust...i don't like a man in women's or a woman in men's...that's cross-dressing...or drag...

androgyny is more unisex to me....
neither man nor woman...but rather both at once...
encompassing the male and female at once...truly universal...without prejudice...

ysl by elbaz...jpgaultier...

Gorgeous pics, softgrey! That Gaultier pic soooo defines how I imagine "androgyny" as defined by fashion.

Kim Iglinsky and Kim Peers (the female metrosexual version lol):D

Kim Peers was so hot in that Prada campaign! I wonder if she'd like to be my girlfriend... ^_^ :innocent:

Mike Guenther in these Versace ads was very androgynous. At first glance, flipping through GQ, I saw an ad with him (hair flying back, arm on a female model's shoulder, huge grin) I totally thought he was female. Upon closer inspection, I was like wow thats crazy - the ad was just totally dumbfounding.

You know, I’ve just been through this entire thread (red x’s and all!), and I think we mustn’t overlook Alejandro’s androgyny. We see him perhaps too personally to be as objective as we are about some of the famous/infamous characters in the public domain, but there is no question that he is exceptionally skilled at presenting the androgynous image.

I would re-post one of his self-pictures here, but they are done under difficult conditions and would compare unfavorably with the professionally posed photos of the celebrities. I can only suggest you review a number of his pictures in the What Are You Wearing Today thread with that in mind.

I'll try and clarify (excuse my clumsy wording). It's not so much scary, but I don't think it's the most attractive look a model can sport. I think femininity should be celebrated, and not necessarily be 'masculinised' (again, sorry about the wording!). I'm all for experimentation with fashion, although I don't personally like the look - for aesthetic reasons.
