Pucci's Peter Dundas to design Anja Rubik’s wedding dress
Anja Rubik is getting married; like most girls, once the initial excitement had passed, her thoughts turned to the dress. But unlike most girls, the Polish model, who this season stars in campaigns for Fendi, Gap, Giuseppe Zanotti and Lacoste, could pick up the phone and call one of the world’s top designers. “I asked Peter Dundas to do my dress and he agreed. He’s a friend of mind and I just love what he does for Pucci, so I’m very excited to see what he comes up with.”
Now that plans for the gown are underway, Rubik’s next step is planning the ceremony. “We are aiming for around June, if we manage to organise it and get away with that. We do want to get married in the summer when it’s warm, somewhere around Europe. We’re not sure quite yet where,” she says. Her fiancé, model Sasha Knezevic, chose the Christmas holidays to propose. With her family based in Poland and his in Austria, the couple’s parents met for the first time to celebrate in Vienna. “It was really nice,” she says. “They liked each other really quickly, so that was a big relief!”
In town for Vogue Australia, the pair boarded a plane yesterday to head to Hamilton Island’s luxury Qualia resort for some downtime before Rubik heads to Paris to walk at the Chanel couture show – after a detour to see Uluru.
