It's great that she did Chanel but IMO the make up and hair styling there was just awful, not one bit flattering...

gah, I only thought it was a good collection :yuk:

I've found an interview Anja gave to Italian Muse magazine, translated by Jiang on her blog, I guess, this is the address: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=103081309

"...Anja Rubik interprets a more enigmatic character. Not completely absorbed by fashion world, she continues to study and paint as a hobby...delicate and aristocratic, her smooth mermaid-like body and the blond light she sheds...almost colorless at first glance, but able to reveal an unexpected potential to an expert eye...like a sort of white canvas, repository of social desires: this is what had made her into an icon.

Q: What is an icon? And why, according to you, this spasmodic search for icons by the media?
Anja Rubik: An icon is someone that inspires others and make them want to be like them. Marilyn Monroe is a great Hollywood icon just as Bridgitte Bardot or Kate Moss are fashion icons. People like to identify themselves with others, especially with young, beautiful, hip women with strong personalities.

Q: Is beauty a form of social status?
AR: In a way it is, espeically people in the high society like to surround themselves with attractive women and men...I like to believe that beauty is the individuality of every person.

Q: The vices that characterize you.
AR: Indecision, over-ambitious, never satisfied.

Q: How would you describe yourself?
AR: "Hundred desires within me, hundreds of thoughts, hundreds of wilted leaves" from "Kordian" by Juliusz Slowacki.

Q: If you were to choose an imaginery character from the movies or from literature or from art in general, which do you feel is more similiar to you?
AR: Santiago, the main character from Paulo Coelho's book "The Alchemist".

Q: Fashion - what has given to you and what has it taken from you?
AR: It has given me the ability to meet great people and visit wonderful places. It has taken away from me the pleasure to carelessly flip through magazines.

Q: You declared that your favorite song is "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode. Do you have a soft spot for the 80s, for dark music, or for Dave Gahan?
AR: I have a huge soft spot for all three of them. Particularly dark music, books, poems, and paintings always seemed to attract and inspire me.

Q: Painting is a great passion of yours. What is art to you, an escape to your special place or a passion you wish to continue in your future?
AR: It's a form of relaxation. When I paint I forget about the world around me. I enjoy painting and I will definitely continue making art in future however always as a hobby.

Q: One of your paintings is the pictorial transportation of a photograph that Mario Testino took of Kate Moss when she had short hair. Why did you choose this photo? Does it have anything to do with the fact you cited her as an icon?
AR: I love that photograph. I think it shows so much of Kate's character and it inspired me. I am sure the fact that she is an icon influenced my choice on a certain level."
