^Yes, but when you think of it, the Beautiful campaign was a bit old-fashioned, too. I believe it must be a signature style Estee Lauder chose for some of their lines. If you compare them with visuals featuring Carolyn Murphy, they have a totally different feel. And that can't be accidental - after all, that's probably why they chose Anja: to channel a new image - romantic, if a bit retro - for some of their products.

I agree completely, it's just that I had the impression that Anja, since the beginning of her super model career, has been trying to de-romanticize her image, make it more edgy, in order not to be labeled another blond Slavic girl (i.e. banal, for some). While the Estee Lauder campaign is highlighting her 'sweet' side back. I might be wrong but in this sense, I find it slightly ironic

^I get your point, but I guess Anja has already proved she's not banal at all! That's why she was offered such a contract. I don't believe Estee Lauder would have chosen an empty blonde doll to represent them.
Plus such a prestigious contract should probably bring Anja other ambitious offers (editiorials, campaigns), so I believe she doesn't complain about being portrayed as a sweet romantic beauty for Estee.
