FROM TEENVOGUE: MODEL MOMENT
Confession: I've never seen anyone as gorgeous as Anja Rubik. Being next to her face is like staring at a particularly good painting, and it's no wonder that Estee Lauder and Chloe chose her as their face. So when I spotted the newly coiffed blonde leaving Viktor & Rolf, I had to get tips on surviving Paris Fashion Week, which also seem applicable when going through finals, spring training, or dress rehearsals for the school play. Here's advice from a catwalk veteran:
Smile! "If you go around with a smile on your face, instead of being grumpy and scowling, everything gets easier. Not only that, but you make the people around you feel much better, and that creates a good sense of teamwork, like we're all in this together. Things are always better if you smile."
Take Breaks. "You can't just work all the time. I had the opportunity to go to the Musee D'Orsay this week and see their art collection. It was really inspiring."
Have Some Perspective. "Sure, being a model is hard work, but I'm in Paris, going to fashion shows. Are you kidding? Even walking from show to show is interesting, because I get to see the city and the architecture. You can always find something to complain about but it’s easier to appreciate the good things."
Besides being very cool and very wise, Anja's also very lucky this week. Her parents came into town to see her walk in the shows! Here she is at the Place de la Concorde with her mom and dad!
