A some old interview:
Anja Rubik Q & A
About Estée Lauder & Beautiful
1. How did you feel when you knew that Estée Lauder had chosen you as a new model for
Beautiful?
I couldn’t believe it, it still feels like a dream! I’m very lucky to be in the company of such beautiful
women as Elizabeth Hurley, Carolyn Murphy and Liya Kebede.
2. What's your impression of the Estée Lauder brand?
It's a wonderful company with great quality products. Very elegant, very feminine.
3. What are your favorite Estée Lauder products?
I love the Daywear Plus cream, it has an amazing texture and smell. I also can't do
without the Body Performance Smoothing Manicure/ Pedicure treatment and the More Than
Mascara.
4. How is beauty modeling different to fashion editorial or catwalk modeling?
It's much more precise and detailed, plus more organized.
5. Who are your beauty icons?
Brigitte Bardot, Ava Gardner, Sophia Loren and Grace Kelly.
6. What are the cornerstones of your beauty regime?
I cleanse every day, I never go to bed with make up on, and always put moisturizer on in the
morning and before going to sleep. I drink a lot of water and take special vitamins for the skin,
mainly A, D and B. Once a week I use a delicate peeling and purifying musk.
7. What beauty tips have you learned working as a model?
Always moisturize your skin before putting any make-up on, and always use a
sunscreen.
8. What do you think makes a woman beautiful?
Her healthy, glowing skin; her uniqueness and individuality.
9. When do you feel most beautiful?
After I have had a massage and all my weekly skin treatments!
10.What one beauty product can you never do without?
A good face cream.
General Information:
11.Where are you from originally?
I was born in Poland, and I now live in New York. But I’ve also lived in Paris, Canada and South
Africa.
12.What's your favorite thing about New York City?
The huge variety of cultures; the energy on the streets; the feeling of freedom. Everywhere you go
there’s always something going on and no one cares what you look like or what you’re wearing –
there’s just a great energy here.
13.How did you get your start in modeling?
I always dreamed of modeling, but it was my mother who had the courage to send my pictures to a
Polish modeling agency.
14.What's the best thing about your job?
My job makes it possible to see the world, visit great places and meet interesting people.
15. You must get to travel a lot with your work, what are your favorite places so far?
Egypt and Bora Bora [Tahiti]. I also love The Maldives and Mexico…almost any place that has a
beach, is calm and I can be left to myself.
16.What do you do to relax?
I love to read, go to the movies and I paint – painting is my passion
17.What would you be doing if you weren't modeling?
Most probably back in Poland studying Veterinary Science.
18.What goals do you have for yourself - personally and professionally?
Professionally: working with the very best people in this business, and of course making the cover
of American Vogue! Personally, my goal is to try to do everything the best I can, and not have any
regrets.
19.Describe your perfect day.
I would wake-up, read the news on my laptop while having a cup of coffee with honey, go to the
movies than paint for two or three hours, take a shower, go for a massage , go out for dinner and
then to an underground jazz club.
