Anja Rubik: My husband helps me grow
Anja Rubik appreciates the way her husband encourages her to "grow intellectually".
Anja Rubik's husband is her "best friend and worst enemy".
The fashion star is married to fellow model Sasha Knezevic, who she met thanks to her job. She calls him the person she is closest to in the world, even though he has the ability to make her furious at times.
"He is my best friend, worst enemy, love and he makes me grow both intellectually and as a person. We met on a shoot for Dolce & Gabbana and then again a few years later. Since then we have been inseparable. We are coming up to our second anniversary in July," she told the British edition of Grazia magazine.
The 29-year-old star was then quizzed on what she looks for in a man. She discussed the qualities she finds attractive and the things which have always turned her off.
"Ambition and sense of humour," she said. "I think the most important thing in life is growth, learning new things, exploring new areas and developing new skills. There is nothing less attractive than a passive man sitting on the couch watching television."
The model has moved into design recently, creating a capsule collection of shoes and bags in association with Giuseppe Zanotti.
The project is one she is extremely proud of because it pushed her out of her comfort zone.
"Being unsuccessful," she replied, when asked for her biggest fear. "Whatever I decide to do, I put my energy and heart into it. I hate doing things by half. The Zanotti project was a wonderful challenge. I had always wanted to do this and had my ideas and sketches along with Giuseppe's extensive technical guidance. The shoes are an extension of me: an erotic spirit with a chic punk twist. They have a punk feel, with unique corseted lacing and piercing details but are also incredibly sexy with a refined sensibility. They are a mix of feminine and tough."
