Ann-Sofie Back F/W 07.08 London

se is trying to hard. she should startwith making clothes that are more wearable---then work her way up.

Great work by Ann-Sofie Back, beautiful folds and draping.

An underrated designer, definitely.

i was waiting for see this, it was the most anticipated show in london for me and have to say i'm not dissapointed
the draping and the cuts are well done, and the shape of the clothes is very appeling to me.
i like this collection

I must say this looks pretty decent so far, and I'm usually not a fan AT ALL. Before opening the thread I was thinking how she's just getting worse by the season, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing more of this.
My sentiments exactly. Not a fan to begin with, never got the hype, and the last two collections were awful. But this, while not exactly groundbreaking, I can at least somewhat appreciate. Definitely a step forward in my book.

thats because a lot of designers cannot handle skirts below the knees that dont look old and dowdy...........
i had to take a personal challenge a while back to overcome this in my own work...........

its a study in proportions and cutting that a lot of people are afraid of
funny-- this is exactly what i was thinking when i was looking at christopher kane's collection...
alll the skirts were too short to be sold that way...
but would the designs still work if the skirts were lengthened for delivery???
not so much imo...
big problem in terms of sales...
you are right....it's a real challenge

^_^

*regarding this collection...
what is this???...
WHO is this???

she has absolutely no point of view...
it's just all over the place from season to seeason..
some of this stuff is fine..ok...
but it's not HERS...it's swiped from bunches of other designers...
for an 'alternative' designer...she sure is copying a LOT of others...
i don't think i have to even point out who she is copying...since it is SO obvious...

:ermm:

no no, i meant she's litterally recycling various things...i think i spotted some rucksack straps in there somewhere. :D

well, i think Ann-Sofie is a great designer, who is not afraid to dive into the experiment. She makes beautiful wearable stuff with her secondline, BACK, and the mainline is for experimenting and going crazy. This collection was inspired by her own graduation show from saint martins, and also by the stand. All the clothes had to look like they where put together in a few minutes just before the show. I tought it looked amazing. I wouldn't say she's copying designers, I think its more the other way around... If I remember corectly there was even an article in elle magazine about it!
