Anna Corinna Handbags

wow! great price! im eagerly awaiting my lady duffle....i'll check out the quality and may just be ordering that city tote.....what a great bag purchase cutxpaste!

ooooh... just got my bag, and after a thourough inspection, i am very dissapointed with the quality :( i dunno if i am going to keep it....

Oh, really? :( What is it that's not right, anything in particular or just generally poor quality? The leather looks so luscious in the pic.. :(

the leather is very soft and a nice texture, distressed and uneven. i love the leather.

the things that bug me are
*the side pockets aren't lined, and while i normally wouldn't care, the fact that the back of the leather is a rough texture and that there's tons of leather particles in the pocket, it would keep me from actually using the pockets at all. i could get some black fabric and line thm myself.....but it's a major design no-no. they probably did it to cut back on cost or something, but i dont want to put something in them and have leather dust stuff all over whatever i put in there. why should i have to finish off area sof the bag that are totally unfinished ?

* the hardware is super lightweight and looks cheap. the zippers are a bit tough to zip, and there's metal excess that they didn't cut off of the lobster clasps. bad, cheap hardware casting.

* the snap on the front of the bag is cheap. there's a pocket on the front under the flap that luna had mentioned. the problem is the pocket is unlined too and you can see the back of the snap, and it's totally like one of those craft store magnetic snaps. i know because i've bought snaps for bags i've made myself.

those are the two major things that bug me about it. good things are the size and shape, it's a great size and a really nice shape. i just really feel like it's unfinished or something, or that it's a bit half-***ed. i would never leave pockets unlined if i knew the leather was going to rub off like that. Even if it was a smooth goathide, i'd still line the pockets. im surprised they went out on the market like that. it looks like a prototype bag to me. i dunno, maybe im spoilt because i have a chloe and Mj and stuff and i notice exspensive detailing and how it differs from lower priced bags. perhaps it's because i have a lot of experience making handbags and (because im a bit of a perfectionist) would have never put an unfinished looking bag out there for people to buy.

im debating on sending it back. i could get an MJ stella or a mombasa for the amount i paid for it. i'll still take pic for you girls though.

here are a bunch of pics....

if anything, it'd be a kick-around bag...and if i decide to keep it, a very exspensive one at that. there's no way, if i knew what to expect that i'd ever pay retail for this bag. what do you girls think?

This part's the kicker, June. There's your answer.

I'd be disappointed too, and for the same reasons as you are. It's not just that you're used to MJ and Chloe now, and you're not being unreasonable - that's just laziness in their production. The Mimco bags I own are much farther down in the brands pricing foodchain than those Anna Corinna bags, yet they're always impeccably finished, and with heavy hardware. There are no exposed edges or leather anywhere, and that raw leather dust all over the pocket is shocking for the price. :o

I'm so sorry, June! I loved the leather on my AC duffle too and the shape/size is fabulous but the same details that are bothering you bugged me too. If a person is not so into details and can love the bag simply for the leather and the style than they'll be happy with it but someone who cares about those 'little' details will have a hard time looking past them. I'm one of those detail people unfortunately cuz I really wanted to love my AC bag! I'd love to see AC correct those issues but then I wonder if the price tag will be raised significantly as well. Too bad, the bag has such potential.

That's the downfall to these indie designers that go and mass produce their bags. I think that not lining the front pocket (with the mag. snap) was the biggest downfall. I know what the back of magnetic snaps look like, but I don't want to see it everytime i open that pocket.

Either way, I kept mine... and since I got it on sale, I didn't feel so bad about it. I still get so many compliments on it when I wear it. and it's a great shape, it's easy to wear and comfortable to wear... and it has that messenger strap that is so handy.

hmmmmmmmm, well, i have a nice italian made bag by carolina lucchi or something i got at TJMAX a long time ago. it has the messanger strap and the foldover thing like the city. i paid $179 for it and use it quite frequently. it's also a lesser known/ random italian designer name but the quality is much much bettter.

this puppy is going back to it's maker. onward the marc jacobs stella hunt!

^ all very good points, jun. thanks for sharing with us! totally agreed that it could be a kickaround bag but the $ u paid could go towards something better made. that unlined pocket is a real killer...looks like did in the first bag design class i ever took.

she's got nice designs, it's just the execution that needs work im affaid....

i agree on the execution issues.

the style of the city is fantastic, but on mine- the edges are not finished in the way I am used to. I wear mostly Balenciaga, so Im used to a clean edge on raw cut leather edges and nice, sturdy hardware... also, the zippers are not a smooth pull. on mine, the tassel hangs from a zipper pull- very ugly. I wish it was just a circle or something. silly complaints maybe... but it's that kind of finishing detail that makes this bag not quite at the level it could be... I think the hardware is in general the wrong tone for the city too- on mine it's gold and it's chipping and scratched up already and I've only had it a month.

Girls, who's ready to help me? You hangbag ladies know where to find anything, and I'm struggling to find a particular bag. I actually REALLY love the look of the City Tote, but I really can only find it practical for daily use in the largest size. There's something somewhat androgynous about the X-Large and Large sizes and I'm trying to find them in the grey, tabacco, or chocolate leather colors. If any of you know where to find these online that would great!! Thanks in advance!

places online where yu can get them: shopintuition.com, shopbop.com (butterscotch white and black), lunaboston.com (slate *GREY*, plum, tobacco (which is like chocolate)), activeendeavors.com

basically do a google search for 'anna corinna city tote' and you'll get a whole bunch of sites :flower:

I think I was being a little too specific with the X-Large size...I don't mind the Large, but I really have a thing for the super big sizes of bags ;)

Thanks Jun!!!

Are there any Uk or Eu internet shops where you can buy the city tote. ?

hi there. i havent posted in a long while but i just recieved my anna corinna bag , the mini city tote in white, and i must say that i do agree with some other posters that the quality leaves something to be desired. the lining of the leather keeps on producing little lint balls that are all over my clothes. the leather is very soft, but it just seems like the bag is unfinished, like another poster said. i did not pay full price ($360) and i am glad that i did not. i did, however, pay $230 for it on ebay, and i think that $230 is too much to pay for this bag. kind of a bummer. i cant return it either cause she had a no return policy. i may try to resell it on ebay. what a drag. it is such a cute style, why cant the quality just be a little better!! sigh.....
