I'd think that in Canada, Godard's films wouldn't be too hard to find (because so many people in Canada speak French). Check at locally-owned video stores. I go to college in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire, and my local video store here has "Pierrot le fou".

^the problem is...toronto is so big i dont know where to begin. i asked around and no one seems to know who godard is i looked into local rental stores..and they only have those classic classic movies like casablanca or gone with the wind.

You need to sit these people and educate them! Godard is GENIUS!
You could always try looking for his films on amazon (and instead of buying brand new ones, get the ones that are "used" for pratically the cost of renting). I do this for many films that aren't available in the UK or are parts of boxsets. They are often dirt cheap and in great condition. I've yet to have a problem with these sellers. Hope that helps.
