Anna Karina

^What a treat!:flower:

StellaMare, what would you say is your favourite bit of Une Femme est Une Femme, and why?

definitely. great pics, stella. I've been loving Bordélique's avatar, no idea it was anna.

karina: It's difficult to choose, but I love the ending "je ne suis pas une infame, je suis une femme" and the scene where they first use books to talk, and when Angela comes home and dances around to some funny song... everything's very charming and beautiful!

Which one is yours?

I've been pondering and I honestly cannot choose, as you say the whole film is very charming and beautiful. Apart from the scenes you mentioned I adore the eccentric touches, like at the club where she strips you can walk through an arch in your underwear and step out fully clothed in a second, the scene where Anna and JPB are in the cafe and he runs outside and hits his head against the wall - the sound of a pinball machine as he collides, when Anna asks JCB if he prefers her in pyjamas or a nightdress (as she asks him she's playfully spinning around and then loses her footing - she's so cute as she tries to recover) and he says he prefers her in pyjamas and she defiantly says she'll change into her nightdress since it's more practical (for making sweet, sweet babies! )

The costume in this film (and most of Godard's) really hits home how iconic Anna Karina's style was. Films produced nowadays with an unlimited costume budget which generally entails buying loads of designer clothes, never make an impact on screen. Whereas here in Une Femme, the simple look is so integral to Anna's character and visual pleasure of the film , Anna in her mac with red tights and red umbrella, her blue dress with white fur trim, the saucy sailor outfit....

I hope you don't mind but I've uploaded some more of those screencaps you posted earlier. They were just so fantastic

^^ I don't mind at all! I totally agree with what you said about the movie. It's truly special.

Le Petit Soldat : Part One

I made screencaps of Anna Karina in Le Petit Soldat.:flower: She is beautiful and restraint in this film. In the 2nd and 3rd screencaps Anna is with Jean Luc Godard :woot: . LPA was infact their first film together, although it was released 3 years later due to French censors.

Anna has a minor role in it. I haven't seen it, but I've heard it's not that great. I don't even know what it's about - IMDB doesn't even have the plot on there. :p But Jane Fonda is also in it, and it was directed by Roger Vadim.

^ I can't see them. :(

Does anyone have screencaps from "Une Femme Est Une Femme"? I'd love you forever. I have a few but not nearly enough!
