Anne Valérie Hash borrowed from the boys for a slouchy, tailoring-meets-street-chic collection on the opening day of the Paris Fashion Week season for autumn/wwinter 2010/11 today.
Taking a tip from skateboarders and surfer-dudes, she slung the models' trousers low, cropped them under the knee and then put them on top of contrasting "under pants" in navy chiffon, grey sweatshirting and an abstract floral print.
Sweatshirt-hoodies were worn with raw-edge waistcoats and walk-shorts in navy wool. The same sporty fabric was used for tunics, embellished with black "rope" embroidery, and long, slinky dresses, knotted in strategic places to add shape, and with hems touching the flat, two-tone lace-ups.
For evening the show-and-tell effect continued with Hash's masterful use of an iridescent organza which had been pulverised with metal to give a liquid effect. In shades of rose, sapphire, emerald, pearl-grey and violet it was shaped, rolled, draped, twisted and knotted into little tops with short, pleated, balletic tutus, or longer, swirling, pleated skirts to the floor.

wow very old-school hash that touch-up look is. in fact to read the synopsis, the entire collection seems like it's borrowing a lot from her early seasons.

Some great pieces here, the jackets and the jumpsuit, but unsure what the rest are about. I usually prefer her more tailored pieces anyway. Ok, more looks are being uploaded now. It's a cute collection, but it doesn't leap out at me.

looks like a mess IMO. the clothes are ill-fitting and the designs were a bit blah. Styling was a bit substandard too.

i dunno,imo,a-v-h,made her name with this wonderful contrast between the tailored and volume. i do agree with you zazie that i wish there was more of the tailored elements but this isn't so bad either. i'm just happy to see she's kind of rekindling a little bit of that old form.

Me too, as she can really cut a mean curved seam and give a great shape to suits and outer wear. For the price tag, the more casual, floppy pieces just aren't delivering enough "punch".

i dont know if i like this or not
there are some great pieces her but as a whole its a downer

Other than the shiny, flimsy transparent pieces, the collection will undoubtedly grow on me. It has been a really disappointing season so far.

Anne V Hash has always been inconsistent imo. I truly loved her old works, this echos it for sure but still not up to expectations. It's an uneven affair for me, some great masculine pieces as pointed out, some nice layerings here and there. Better than most of her works recently, her last collection was good. This one still hasn't captured the old magic just yet

The sheer pieces are my favourite from the collection which is decent...not necessarily that memorable, but solid.
