Antenna's Got the Goods in Alphabet City
Wednesday, August 08, 2007
By Valerie Seckler
Why would anyone, specifically men, need another shopping magazine?

Perhaps the answer lies in the pages of a new, stripped-down title called Antenna, hitting newsstands this week, crammed full of product shots (and the occasional feature), and absent celebrities, lifestyle settings and service pieces.

*if anyone can provide the full article that would be great..
thanks!

I'm wondering if this is the same Antenna mentioned in WWD?

An excerpt from the official website (http://antennamag.com/about/):

Antenna is the first mainstream magazine to target individuals who are on a constant quest for the newest and coolest products on the horizon. And it does so without using celebrities, models, concept shoots, service stories and whatever else we deem superfluous to our mission: to become a guidebook, allowing readers to navigate the most extensive collection of products ever compiled in a single publication, while championing the people who create, sell and collect them—all in one comprehensive, artful, elegant and innovative format. Featuring everything from dress shirts and cellphones to jeans and graphic T’s, Antenna is considered to be a non-disposable magazine in a disposable world. And you cannot ask for more than that.

So they're not going to use models and concept shoots? Interesting but I want to see models in my magazines. Unless the product photography is really beautiful and innovative.^_^

Sounds good..but I still wanna see the "concept shoots"..
Will keep my eyes peeled regardless..

Another Cargo, but worse

I saw this a couple weeks ago. It's not good at all. It's nothing but white washed product shots, page after page. It's a cross between Cargo and indie OWN if you've ever seen that one. It too is really bad. Somehow Antenna managed to open with a slew of advertisers.

Somehow I doubt that.
