Anthony Kiedis and new model girlfriend Jessica Stam

Well she wants to become an actress... I hate to say this because I'm a huge fan of her modelling work.. but dating famous people is definately a way to get your relatively unknown name out there..

not that i'm saying this is what she's doing.. just pondering the possibility

Celebrity wise, Anthony Kedis is not really a huge star outside the music circle. Contrary to, let say, Bono, Pete Doherthy or Mick Jagger who are mega-stars even outside their respective groups, Kedis does not enjoy much fame beside the RHCP. I knew the name of the group and I loved their songs way before I knew the name of the lead singer, and I know lots of people who know the Red hot, but don't know Anthony's name. And when I throw the names of Kedis and Stam around me, I am met by equally blank looks, most of the time. So I say they are a pretty balanced couple.

Exactly! Anthony and the rest of the Chilis had their breakthrough in 91 with Blood Sugar Sex Magik and were the IT band, so it's safe to say that Anthony has seen more fame than ms. Stam probably will in her entire life (I'm sorry to say) Just because Anthony doesn't enjoy showing up at random award shows and movie premiers just to boost his own star, like most of todays ever so annoying pop stars do, mean nothing. Anthony is a ROCKstar, not a poster boy who has to walk the red carpet every week to preserve their fading (and probably undeserved) fame. Anthony is the sh*t, and anyone who knows anything about music knows this (well, unless they're 10 years old or younger)

They're a weird couple to me because I think of Jessica as the model equivalent of an indie rocker, while Anthony is so boring and mainstream. Though I think she could have done better, I'm happy she's getting her name out there. I'd really love to see her on screen.

Pete Doherty isnt a big star, not outside of Europe at least. I dont know one person in "real" life who knows who Pete Doherty, or Libertines or who Babyshambles are. I woudlnt know of them without tfs...

But Anthony Kiedis is a big star, even if you didnt know him specifically, people must be under a rock for the last 13 years if you ddint know who The Red Hot Chili Peppers were...

This isn't the first model I've known to date a much older man. She's probably on drugs or something. I really do love her modelling though. I don't know who this Anthony guy is. The title of this thread should be "Jessica Stams new boyfriend Anthony Kiedis. Cause he must be a nobody if I don't know him.

I know people hate being told this, but maybe you are too young to know who Anthony Kiedis is (and I don't mean this in a bitchy way at all, I mean it in a, wow, I must be getting old if I know who he is way)? He used to be super popular like 10 years ago.

Side note, this week's In Touch pairs him with Lisa Ling, and we all know In Touch must be telling the truth
