Funny, I am now just getting to understand it a bit more(with help from my kids) At first I used to think that Luke and Princess Leia were an item only to be corrected by my favorite Jedi knight(my son)that they are actually brother and sister and their dad is Anakin(Darth Vador).I will get into it eventually!
May the force be with you. See not bad!

Mememe! I'm a star Wars fan.

Actually in the start I hated it, but when I saw that Hayden Christensen had the role as "Anakin" I LOVED it

I am a star wars fan since this friday.

First time I saw star wars was -97, i felt asleep in the cinema...

Now, almost 10 years later, i´ve discovered it!!!
AND LOVE IT!:woot:

So... has anyone seen the new film yet? No spoilers please!

^^^ I posted this vague-ish review on the Daisy thread:

The movie is unabashedly, shamelessly a rip-off of A New Hope, with plot points of Return of the Jedi. Literally. It’s so corporate, commercial and just lazy storytelling. JJ Abrams is the Mert & Marcus of filmmaking. I can’t get over how dumb the story is.

Daisy, however, is the runaway star of this new trilogy. And Adam Driver is surprisingly shot very handsomely, but I can’t stand his emo Vader-wannabe. But both give very strong performances that hold this weak story together.

But the most awesome comeback for me is Mark Hamill. He has shaped-up so impressively he’s handsome again, rather than looking like the typical comicbook/ collector nerd. He looks so much like an older Ewan McGregor— elegant, charming and handsome. And it’s his new appearance, along with Daisy and Adam, and director Rian Johnson that has me looking much more forward to Episode Vlll than this offering.

On first impression, it’s a fun, fluffy and mindless blockbuster, but completely reboot of the original trilogy. I think newcomers and kids will enjoy it very much since they won’t know about the exact storyline of the OT’s that this one is ripping off. And the hardcore fans will love it because it panders to their love of Han and Chewbacca, X-Wings vs TIES, nostalgia etc. But if you allow yourself to think about this film’s storyline critically, it completely diminishes everything the heroes of the Original Trilogy had fought so hard for to the point that it was a complete failure.

To be fair, the decent direction, solid performance of the actors-- Daisy is very charming, really strong action sets, and BB-8 will oveshadow the totally lazy and dumb story.

It's much much better than the embarrassing mess that was The Prequels. Although I still like Episode l for the designs and the potential it had to be a great story had George just collaborated with competent writers and directors, rather than do it all himself.

I must say that I enjoyed The Force Awakens a lot. There are still a few things that I didn't like, but I can't discuss them without giving spoilers. But I think this was a really good movie and probably the most important movie of the last decade!

I loved going to the theatre and watch people seeing it from all ages. Such an event. Beautiful.

I also liked the "new" actors. Not only Daisy, who was amazing and I didn't expect that. But also Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and Domnhall Gleeson, who are some of my fave actors of the last times.

It was written by the writer who penned the script for the Empire Strikes Back....

I enjoyed the new movie a lot. I couldn't stop smiling.... But, it is pretty much a rehash of the original movie. They make a lot of references to it too.

I´m a fan of the self-referencing, they´re paying homage to themselves :)
Lots of parallelism but it´s like a reboot without being too much of the same. It´s filled with nostalgia for the fans but I think it also works as a stand alone sci-fi movie for non fans, it´s entertaining.
I´m in love with Daisy Ridley, she was fantastic. She had great chemistry with everyone. John was also a great surprise.
After Empire, it´s my favorite Episode (so it was written by the same guy? no wonder :) )
My ranking would be: 5 7 4 6 3 2 1.

I´m looking forward to Episode VIII, where do they go from here? I´m guessing lots of flashbacks are in our future :D

ME!
And i also work in a cinema and yesterday was so crazy :D So many people dressed up like the characters!

I'm a star wars fan thanks to my dad who knows the whole saga by heart. I'm not an hard core one but I absolutely love every single movie they made. Of course I want to see the last one and I think it was a great opening for this new trilogy. Wasn't disappointed at all :D The new cast is awesome, every single on of them!

But since I left the movie theater, I'm like "who's Ray goddammit!" do you guys have any theory? She must be the daughter of some famous jedi, right?

^ the popular theories are that she's Luke or Han&Leia' s daughter, that Luke wiped out everyone's minds and left her behind to protect her from Kylo and/or the Ren Order.
My personal theory is that she's Obi-Wan's granddaughter. Related to a Jedi but not to the main one nor his sister. There's an article on vanity fair's site about Ewan McGregor recording one of the voice overs she hears during her flashback, he says something like "Rey, these are your first steps".

The "Rey" is actually said by Alec Guinness. He originally said, "afraid," but then they edited out the beginning (i.e., "af") and the end (i.e., "d"). Ewan McGregor says the rest....

I agree. I think she's a Kenobi. Skywalkers have American accents; Kenobis have British ones. And Daisy Ridley said that her character living alone was a huge clue regarding her lineage (Obi-Wan Kenobi was a hermit).

^great catch on the accents! I didnt think of the hermit connection but of the desert one but it's good :)
