I was wondering if anyone has heard of or belong to Curves, the gym geared towared women. I was considering joining, and Id like to get the scoop....Thanks!:flower:

I've heard of it.

It's much like Lucille Roberts...etc.

^ Not sure about Lucille Roberts, but I do have a few friends that joined Curves although I have not gone personally. They all SAID they loved it, but none of them seemed to stick with it. Those particular friends are slightly on the lazy side, though :ninja: I know that's mean. Please forgive me.

Anyhow, my perception is that it's circuit training, so you go from machine to machine without breaking in between to keep your heart rate up. It's a great concept and I've done similar training at the Y which was very effective :flower:

If there's not an annual obligation, I would think it's definitely worth a trial period. Check it out!!

their owner is a staunch supporter of anti-abortion organizations, so if you join you would be supporting the "right to life movement." for whatever that's worth to you.

or better yet, get fat.
let it all go, sister!!!!!

:rofl:

just kidding!

Its worth a lot to me but I wasn't asking about it. Yes, I have some feminist viewpoints. But I don't think its really necessary to point it out considering this isn't a political debate forum, not trying to be rude, just informing.

dreamboat annie said she'd like to get the scoop. regarding curves, that is a large part of the scoop. i don't think avoiding political arguments means ignoring the existence of politics altogether, and forbidding the mention of political subjects.

does it?

i was pretty careful not to use words that were condemming of anyone or their opinion on the matter - at least i tried to be. i've re-read it and to me, it still looks like a statement that is informative, but politically neutral.

that was my intention - to be informative, but politically neutral.

lol you guys are cute^^^ as far as curves, if you want a really good work out just join a "gym" gym, as you'll have many more options and can increase the intensity of the work out on your own accord :)

i agree that options are the key, when picking a gym, especially if oyou dont yet know what your body "likes".

i am a pilates and swimming girl, with weight training added in, and elliptical machine for added cardio. but i really LIKE all those things. and you can't get all that at every gym.

so a bigger gym will let you find out what suits you, so youre more likely to stick to it.
