i have a martin margiela apron...it's not all frilly and fou fou..it's just white and functional...with pockets...the kind a waitress usually wears...i wear it like a big belt...

i really like it...but not everyone appreciates my apron...so i have to deal with silly comments from the peanut gallery when i wear it...

i only know one other person who wears aprons as well...but she is super cool...so i'm in good company......

^ soft that sounds nice. to be honest, i haven't worn aprons for awhile, but i had my eye on one at a vintage store, but it had some tears unforunately. i think frou frou aprons like the ones pictured would look good under a little skirt or dress..or wearing two aprons back to back..it all depends on what type of apron is it. i think two white aprons back to back would look really good and not odd at all. you'd end up with two bows or a knotted front with straps hanging down..and slits up the side where the aprons meet..or they could overlap and look like a skirt. i think there are tons of possibilities. the recent givenchy collection online seemed inspired by aprons...it was very pretty.

love mainly the french waiter kind of aprons,
they are bit more 'technical' and sporty/labor but they are very easy
-and practical- to wear, use them when working in my atelier.
best version in light weight dark jeans or in cotton (gray, brown, dark navy)
-ikea has some very cute ones in reasonable prices-

*best i've seen were those brought out by Preen (maybe three years ago, or more?)

i actually have an apron. black silk with floral embroidery and lace around the edges, it came with a pouch as well. ive never worn it, maybe i should give it a try i was thinking of turing it into some sort of top..i think i cut off the ribbons that tie it together...so i guess not
